The watch/band look genuine. This is a good example of buying the seller before the watch. Personally, I don't like it when these sellers place older watches in a newer box, but this is quite common with the preowned jewelers, pawn shops and silver/gold dealers. It's obviously done to enhance the value or sale of the watch.
Also, as noted by TTG, the date magnifier is another issue to discuss with the seller. Good post TTG.
