I tried them at work and then bought 1. Then the wife wanted one. I've had mine about 4 years - they're great!!

Not yet but I will receive a brand new one in my office within a few weeks and will report back on it. It is the latest in ergonomic office furniture with a flexible mesh back rest. I've tried it out and it is very comfortable

Unbelievable, that is the same chair I was talking about in my other reply! I think they are 850 Euro or something like that.

They're are indeed the bees knees! They cost a bit more than the rest but I'm rough on computer chairs and this one shows no signs of wear whatsoever! I went with the basic black classic Aeron. My wife got the highly-adjustable option and loves hers. Mine is the most comfortable place to sit in the house.

I've had the 'hots' for the herman miller 'Aeron' chair for some time now. It certainly is the 'Cadillac' of chairs, or would appear to be. Available in 3 sizes, adjustable 18 ways to Dodge and has more features than Carter has pills (pretty technical descriptions, eh...). They have gotten more affordable over the years but still expensive. If you want the ultimate and are willing to spend the money to get it, check them out...

Wow, small world! And I do think this is a great chair! One of my colleagues already has one and she's no longer complaining about her back.

I will! I tried one out for about 15 minutes and that is too short for a real judgement but that 15 minutes felt great! I have the great fortune that I work for a company that really does what it proclaims: listen to its employees. This chair was chosen by a group of testers selected from our office staff last year. Nobody knew the prices of the 5 chairs that were offered for testing. They all voted for this chair.

Hi Tony

As someone who has a dodgy back I have been through a few comuter chairs in my time. Its not just the chair that will make you comfortable but the way you sit in it and the correct height to you PC desk.

It therefore needs to be propery padded, tilt back that can be stopped at any angle. The same with height and it needs to be a a solid piece of kit. You also need support for the lower back and my preference is for a high back chair with lumbar support.

But and its a biggie. You can have the best chair in the world but if you don't sit in it correctly you will still ache and you might as well bin it.

Check out a few of the companies that are office furniture suppliers to big company's or your local council. There stock item is a typist chair which cheap stationers sell. Don't waste your money.

Make sure it can be adjusted enough to bring your arms level with the desk so you don't have to stretch up or down and make sure you sit in it properley. I had a £600+ chair on trial for a month and it was a piece of uncomfortable ergonomic junk!

Try a few out and remember you are going to be sitting in it for a fair amount of time.

Its not far off buying a watch!

Si

I got a killer that is not cheap but you will love it.

I see they sell them in UK too, I got the RH Logic 4.

Here is a link to their site.

The RH Chair

As I say not cheap, but one of the best ones.

Then I have a massage chair too, but that is another story.

Good luck.

Jocke

I have the Herman Miller Aeron chair at my desk at work and it is an awesome chair.

It gets the Terry Newton Two Thumbs Up Award.

Worth every penny my company paid for it.

I have the Herman Miller Aeron which is pretty comfortable. I don't think I would spend my own money on it, though.

Love the looks of the Aeron, but I (and my wife) find them uncomfortable for extended periods. Obviously, everyone has a different opinion, and many love the chair.

I prefer http://www.ergodepot.com/?gclid=CMqx...FRg6awodjBJWCw HAG, because I can move a bit while I work.

Best of luck!

Here's a place to try with some different alternatives:

http://www.downunderchicago.com/comf...o-seating.html

Since I am a spiney, I often look for furniture to help with my back. This website comes from http://www.spine-health.com/wellness...c-office-chair

Another good place is http://www.relaxtheback.com/ which has stores located throughout the country. They have a chair from Lifeform that is pretty pricey but oh so comfortable. I was at one of their stores in Minnesota a couple of Christmas's ago and bought many things for our personal comfort. Awesome store.

http://www.relaxtheback.com/catalog/...0243&tree_id=0

Good-luck in your search.

EXACTLY. It only seems expensive. It takes great care of your back and it's much cooler with the mesh then an upholstered chair. They come in three sizes too so buy the one best suited for your hgt/wgt.

Don't forget Steelcase and Humanscale. They are very much in the league of the Herman Miller stuff.

Also, you can see a good selection of proper office chairs like these on DWR.com

http://www.dwr.com/category/furnitur...task+chairs.do

These "saddles" intrigue me. They look like they could be interesting.

This looks risky to sleep in w/o a football helmet.
