Where to buy nice 18k jewelry?

I'm not a fan of the recent trends with dainty, lightweight jewelry. I don't like hollow and I don't like those flimsy gold strings as I call it. This trend is everywhere from Tiffany's to Van Cleef. Why can't they make the gold more substantial?

Any recommendations? I don't need any brand names... just good jewelry with weight to it.

Chopard and Pomellato make some pretty solid jewelry.

If you’re after something heavy, then a custom piece may be the best option and you can have it made to spec.

If you have occasion to go to NYC, check out the diamond district on 47th street between 5th and 6th avenue.

There is some beautiful and substantial (solid) 18k gold jewelry to be had there.

I love 18K. It is hard to find a specific piece so just go the custom route. You will be happy.
Good luck in your hunt.

I have a Cartier Santos chain, quite heavy and substantial. I'd check them out.

Visit Dubai, India, Singapore, etc. Plenty of solid 14 to 18 k gold chains there. Guys in NYC will make whatever you want.

Will AJ work w/ platinum ? I’ve been in the market for a nice platinum chain but they are tough to come by. Def not looking for the blinged out gangster style platinum but more like a Cartier Santos style in 950.

I'm not a fan of the floating diamonds in Chopard and they're also pretty light weight. I'll look I to Pomellato. Thanks.

I'm a girl lol. I really don't like Tiffany Cartier also has very limited pieces. If not for Love or Just Un Clou designs... it's also extremely lightweight. Their designs are limited.

I might have to do this. How do you know they're not ripping you off though? I'm afraid of fake gold lol. Also is it safe to go there as a woman or do I need to go with a man? I'm not from NY but live a few hours away.

Any recommendations for custom jewelry in New England?

I've never had to buy much of my own jewelry before. For the most part, I've stuck to mainstream Cartier or David Yurman. I've been fortunate enough to inherit some nice pieces or had family custom-make my pieces abroad. I've gone to so many jewelry stores recently and I'm just not impressed. How did 14k become the norm?

Oh I wasn’t advising them I was just pointing out they have a selection aimed at men where as most other well known brands don’t cater for men.

And was asking alongside your Q can anyone recommend a brand who caters for men?

Yes, drive to NYC. Never saw anything in NE as you're desiring. You could easily make a few calls, exchange e-mails, and get anyone in the world who produces high quality 18k chains to make what you desire.

BTW, fast Google lookup

They even do 18k aswell, my jeweler from Dubai ll fedex anywhere in the world with customized cad work design or hand crafted. Our family is dealing with Prime Gems since decades. 22k is a bit too yellow and soft for my taste.
