Need Help: IWC 3714 or Breitling Transocean GMT?

Hey TRF Friends: I need some help with an upcoming purchase. I'm looking for a silver/white face watch on black leather to add another element to my 16610, 36mm Blue Datejust fluted w/ Jubilee and Speedmaster on brown leather. What would you all go recommend? I'm current considering the classic IWC 3714 or the limited edition Breitling Transocean GMT, but am open to other suggestions. Thanks in advance!

I HAD a 3714 and sold it. I still have a 3705 and I am keeping it.

I have a 6.5 inch wrist. The bezel on the 3714 is thin. If you have a smaller wrist, the Portuguese wears big. Try it on before you buy one. I sold it because it wore big on me.

It is an attractive watch. I prefer it to the Breitling.

If your only criteria is a silver or white face watch on a black strap, there are numerous options out there. What made you settle on these two?

It's a tough choice between these two. I have the IWC 3714 and it's a nice watch that can be dressed up or down and looks good with a variety of straps but the same could be said of the Breitling. As scarlet knight writes, the IWC does wear large due to its thin bezel but it's not huge and will probably wear about the same as the 43mm Breitling. The Breitling has an extra complication and an in house movement, which may give it the advantage over the IWC, but the IWC probably has better resale and is considered a modern classic. The Portuguese is also more of a unique watch, in my opinion.

Thanks for the feedback! These are the two that initially caught my eye, open to suggestions under $5k.

I do like both of these, I think the Breitling is better balanced as the IWC has a slight satellite dish effect, but 3714 is more refined.
