Just smoked a SD43 and BLNR, 2 for 1

Off with his head!!!!

I know that’s what most here are going to say. The atrocity against mankind committed here is I just traded off an SD43 and a BLNR. The SD43 was a total impulse buy, actually sight unseen. My AD called and said the guy they ordered it for had to back out and I was his first call. I said sure, let’s do it – never actually having seen one in person. That is a bad strategy for those not in the know. While I find the SD43 to be a stunning looker I developed a white hot, soul scorching hatred for all involved every time I put in on. I just didn’t like the way it sat on my wrist. So that piece had to go, way too expensive of a book end.

My overall collection has really grown to a self-imposed, borderline ridiculous level (YMMV), and I have decided to thin things out a bit. A two for one trade (plus a juicer-63600) seems like a good idea to me. I try to keep hobby money in the hobby, no extra cash required, keep an awesome (to me) collection, only slightly fewer pieces. Last week I traded an Omega SM Racing and a DJ41 for a 116613LB, which is Oh-Mazing and a radical change in my collection behavior. Current tabulation has the collection down net 2, but the increased awesomeness and broadened diversity.

So what does that have to do with the BLNR? Glad you asked. In my reduction efforts I imposed a difficult choice upon Mr. Easy. I boiled it down to either the 116610LV (Hulk) or the 116710BLNR (Batman) as the cut bait. The LVc won a seat in the box because I have several other black face SS sport watches and LVc is just that much more unique. So, peace out BLNR.

Now remaining:
114060 on Oysterflex, 116610LN Sub Date, 116610LV Hulk, 116613LB Bluesy, 126710BLRO “New Pepsi”, 126334 DJ41 Blue Oyster, Omega Seamaster Commander 007 white, Tudor GMT, Tudor BB Blue (about to sell), Tudor Pelagos blue, Tudor BB Chrono, a Tag and Longines (both are about to be traded), and an advertised to me by the end of the year upcoming add of a 500C white(already paid for).

So what does one get for a BLNR, SD43, 63600? What maybe could now be considered the most unique piece in the collection. Ladies and gentleWISers I present the 50535, Cellini Moonphase.

Only thing missing from the beauty is a clear caseback (imo). I am still totally a fan. Huge congrats!

I own both of the departed watches, and while I personally am not likely to ever make the same move as you, I don't blame you for doing so. That moon phase is a real beauty, and not something you see every day. Not to say it's "rare" but it is kind of rare. I've never seen one in person, and have not heard of an AD that has one sitting on the shelf.

anyhow, the most important thing isn't how rare it is, it's how much you love it. I think it's a fantastic piece and I congratulate you!

Great post. Like your way of thinking. Dig your collection and dig that Moon Phase.

OK So now that you have it....

What phase is the moon in tonight? And how is that going to affect tides near you?

Beautiful piece.

It’s totally wrong and will likely cause the earth to spin off it’s axis. It just came in this afternoon and I haven’t had a chance to even attempt to reset it.

I’m pretty sure by the time my scorched box policy is over the Tudor count will be half.

I can tell everyone this, undoing a collection is tougher than it sounds. Justification is a mischievous pal.
