Need some advice...116622 vs 14060m vs 116520

Context:

1) Female. Have owned a 34 blue dial/Arabic OP for almost 2 years, love it, want another Rolex.

2) Saved money like a boss for the past 2 years, ready to buy, come back to forum and find myself in the midst of the Great Rolex Famine of 2018.

3) Went to AD. NO SS SPORTS. Did not purchase OP from this dealer, so no purchase history (AD I bought from is on Grand Cayman), and no ability to get on any list of any kind. Put a deposit on a 116622, rhodium dial. Should be in in about 6 weeks. Unsure about it.

4) Tried on a 116503 at AD. Loved it, but only really want SS and that ain't happening. Can't afford grey prices, and even if I could, not sure I'd do it. Now considering 116520.

5) Had opportunity to try no date SubC in the past, maxi case is too big. Recently got to try a 14060m, loved it, fit well.

So I'm totally at a loss. I like the 116622 and it will help me to establish with AD. But don't LOVE it. 10406m is great, but maybe a little boring? 116520 also great, but do not like as much as the 116500.

Thoughts?

Your problem is a nice one to have really. Which $10K watch do I buy?

:)

Only you can know which one to get really, but of the choice you gave us, I'd try to narrow it down between the Yachtmaster and the Daytona. The Yachtmaster has a bit of flash to it and can go casual or more dressy. Same thing for the Daytona.

Would you consider the 116503 Daytona? It's a great looking watch and getting a new one from your AD would help you build points towards getting a stainless steel sports Rolex in the future.

Nice place to be. I never have any problems with my AD because I don’t have one.
Have you considered looking on Chrono24 are something similar. If your budget covers a new SS Daytona you could get the Sub and a yacht master in mint condition on there. The hunt is fun too.

Good luck.

It's true.

And I know you're right that I have to make the decision based on what I want the most/like the best, but I did not anticipate other variables being legitimate players in my decision making process (insane grey prices, the allure of currying favor with an AD to pave the way for future purchases, etc.)

I also can't just be buying Rolexes any old time; I've been (and will continue) socking away money every month for unnecessary/splurge purchases, but I'd like whatever I buy now to satiate me for a while since it will take me some time to save up again.

And while the 116503 is beatiful, it just isn't my style.

*sigh*

I bought my wife a 34mm Blue OP for her first Rolex. Later bought her a 14060m, which she loves. Doesn't wear the 34mm anymore. Now she wants a date function, so looking at buying the 116622.

1) Dont buy a watch you DONT love.
2) When the 116622 comes in and you see it on your wrist... you'll know. If it does, your search is over. For now ;)
3) What sounds like your real desire is the 116500. As you stated, good luck at the AD. However, grey all day, but youse gots to pay to play. My advice save up, if you can justify the premium.
4) Dont "settle" for a watch that doesnt speak to you.
5) Check the sale area here and legit greys.
6) The 14060m is a classic but you seem to already know it is not enticing enough for you. Dont pay twice for the watch you really want.
7) Enjoy the chase and take your time. Rolex isnt going anywhere

Don't buy anything you don't love. It sounds like 116500 is what you really want though...I would concentrate effort toward that somehow. Good luck.

The thread is about a year and a half old. Hope the OP made a decision by now

You need a five digit no-date sub, the 14060. Women are wearing somewhat bigger watches these days, and this one would be just the right size.

Don't buy a watch just because it is the only one available.
Speaking from experience, if it doesn't sing to you, you will probably end up flipping it in the future.

You said you been saving for 2 years, what reference was you saving towards?
