BLNR deposit
A few months ago, I went to my local AD and bought my first Rolex (datejust). After a few days, I immediately regretted my decision and decided to return the watch and use it as a deposit towards a GMT 116710BLNR. How long should I expect to wait for one to come in?

Years. It’s gonna be years.
Maybe as long as a decade.

How did the return go?
I would imagine that it is hard to return a watch. I mean obviously you were successful, but I’m just curious. The AD that sold me my sub said that the wait for the BLNR is about a year right now. I would think that it varies though. Best of luck! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

They had a one week exchange policy as long as the watch didn’t show any signs of use. They simply got a new warranty card from Rolex and the exchange was done. Hopefully having whatever I paid for the DJ (pretty much 80% of the cost for the BLNR) as a deposit, bumps me up their list a little. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

They now have your money, what’s their incentive to give you one while they can give it to someone who is willing to bundle with a TT or a PM model!
I hope I’m wrong Best of luck Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The problem with this is simple.
They can now hold your money for as long as they want and you have little recourse here. They can always bring in new money to buy a BLNR, you’re prob at the bottom of a list, and you won’t receive the watch until nobody is waiting for it. Basically, you won’t see it until our next recession. If they’re savvy business owners, that’s how they play it. Now, I’ll give you the shark move to get your BLNR faster. Are you in an area with a decent amount of ADs? If not, just lie and say you were traveling somewhere a few hours away last month. Tell the AD you were in other locations when passing by and mentioned you wanted a BLNR, one of them called you today and has it ready for purchase and you’d like your money back. Now, there’s a 0% chance they’ll actually give you the funds back, but you need to act serious. After they’ve refused multiple times, you politely let them know you need a timeline as you have the opportunity to buy it today and it’s unfair to you. You could have it today if they’d just give you your money. You’ll get their next BLNR just to get you off their case. I will add this caveat, it’ll be at least a year until they forget and stop caring about how annoying you were, so I wouldn’t plan on buying anything from them until early 2020. Odds are they already think you’re a PITA bc you’ve already returned a watch, so I’d think you have nothing to lose. Maybe they offered a store credit as an exchange when this return happened, but any cash back is nearly impossible at this juncture. Your best and quickest way to a BNIB BLNR at list, imo. |

Yikes. I would have returned for the refund. I was say indefinitely will be your wait time. They have your money now. It’s not exactly in their best interest to get you a watch in a timely manner. Their best interest would be in getting someone else a watch so they can make another sale. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Only your AD knows. Try to have a discussion with him.
