Heuer 2447

Hi guys,

I have this old Heuer chrono which I bought years ago (and I mean years), I've worn it only a couple of times, I work with my hands so it feels a bit risky to have on my wrist at work so it's been lying in my watch case unworn and unloved. Now I'm planning on making a grab for a watch I've lusted after since my teenage years and it's time to clean out some pieces, I have a good idea of the value of what I'm getting rid of but this one is a mystery. You don't see these that often and when you do the prices are all over the place. It's engraved 2447 between the lugs. Can anyone enlighten me on what I would need to pay to replace this guy. I realize this forum isn't a appraisal service but we are such a friendly bunch here I thought it doesn't hurt to ask. If the mods deem this thread against the rules then by all means nuke it my bad

I can’t help you much with the value estimate, but holy cow is that ever a good-looking chrono. :)

Heuer makes a very handsome chrono for sure. They get the proportions right. Two thumbs up!

I think that might be a Valjoux 72 as well- (same movement as the vintage Daytonas). But very difficult to confirm from that photo alone.

Watches with working V72's (regardless of name on the dial) are right around two grand. Some more. Add the fact that it's a Heuer, and presumably all correct and original, I'd be thinking 5k+ anyway. The later Heuers (pre Tag) with the more colorful dials generally fetch more, but I'm sure you would do OK selling this piece.

Good looking watch. I have no clue on the value but my experience on vintage watches is that the money is in the details. Good luck.
