Loupe keyring: recommendation sought
Hi all,
Anyone have a recommendation for a loupe keyring? It'd be really handy to have one on me all the time. Thanks, David |

For what purpose? What magnification is required? What's your budget? Are you looking for a jeweler's loupe inside its own housing or a watchmaker's loupe with some sort of retention option to attach it to your keys? Is attaching it to your keys your preference or are you open to other options?
I'll shoot in the dark and recommend an Eschenbach 1182-10. It's a 10x folding loupe in an unbreakable plastic housing, all made in Germany. They're about $100 USD. Not sure what they run in Ireland. If you prefer variable magnification then the 1186-9 has 3x/6x/9x power. It's about the same price as the 10x. https://www.eschenbach.com/products/...ng-1182-10.asp https://www.eschenbach.com/products/...ing-1186-9.asp Personally, I wouldn't keep a loupe on my keys. That's not an ideal environment for precision optics. |

Forgive me, but what is the difference between a jeweler’s loupe and a watchmaker’s loupe? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Jeweler's who make jewelry wear eye loupes but those who buy and sell jewelry, stones and gems use what's typically considered a jeweler's loupe as described above. Jeweler's loupe: Watchmaker's loupe: HTH |

If I can’t see it with my own eyes, it isnt there and doesn’t bother me. I’ve got an OCD streak anyways and don’t need to feed the beast by looking at things with a loupe.

Have to agree most time a loupe can be a watch owners worst enemy.
