Neither are the original. They are both deck style or marine style watches. That’s why they look the same

Stowa Marine looks the same and costs less.
I bet you can find this design at $10 to $100K. Just a popular look.

hold one and look... nothing like each other
both great watches but the margin separating watches is in the details. the who did it first for a pretty common style is different than saying Hublot vs Royal Oak because the design itself is unorthodox, those designs are pretty common and you can find many watches at all levels that look similar. Drives me crazy when people say any round, black dial, black bezel diving watch is a copy of a sub. There is only so much you can do to make a black dial, round diving watch different.

So many differences, not even close to the same.

Take a look at them in person and compare the movements and you will notice a big difference in finish and quality

Both art deco design. Dates back to 1920s, neither of them invented the design, it was just a period with this specific design just like integrated lug style and octagonal designs in the 1970s (AP did not invent!)

Lots of watches look the same, whether it be a $50 Timex, a $5,000 Breitling, or a $50,000 Lange. Holding one and looking at them closely reveals all a discerning person needs to know.

Having handled both watches in person... They are not even close. You want the Lange. Trust me.

They do not look the same to me.
The Lange has a double sunk dial, which has been used since the 19th century, I believe originally started on American pocket watches. |

What makes you say art deco? I think they are rather austere

It's a classic design that is common among dozens of watch companies. As far as the two mentioned, not even close.

A lot of differences in the numerals, one has a date, even markers on the sub seconds.
The main similarities are dial colour and hand placement. Both good lookers !
