Polar Availability

I know that it is not a Daytona or BLRO, but it seems to be less common than the black face version. Is seeing an Exp II Polar in an AD case worth mentioning?

even in london they are around. i would say no.

TBH i see both with the same frequency. Unless people saying it here are correct, i wouldn't automatically notice its more "rare" than the black.

But black ones don't seem to get any respect.

Have seen a few Polars locally in London. Not super rare, but still not readily available.

They have a small premium(markup/margin) on Watchfinder too so can't be that hard to find. As WF are quite a greedy bunch.

Good luck with finding one though, I like them too... I think I'd get one after a few more purchases, GS/DJ41!

I usually see 2-3 in each of the display cases at the local ADs. I would say unfortunately they aren't rare at the moment.

I wonder if Rolex is flooding the market with these cause they plan on discontinuing or changing them up? Would it help if I said “my AD told me”?

All seriousness, I wonder what plans Rolex has for the mighty Explorer II...

I've usually seen at least a few Exp IIs in the display cases of my local ADs (in the past few months). From my perspective, wouldn't say one is harder to get over the other. It's much harder to walk in and expect to get a SS Sub in my area than an Exp II.

My AD had a polar in stock each of the times I was there. I wouldn’t say they are hard to get

I tried on a ex 2 polar when I bought my dj36. It was very nice. I would think with those two watch you could have all bases covered.

I wanted an exp II polar. I bought one with box, papers and stickers on for less than retail. Go grey. It's easy and you don't have to wait.

The latest Exp2 was released in 2011 for its 40th anniversary. It would be cool if they did a 50th release in 2021.

But then if it’s an awesome release then who knows when you’re going to be able to get it!

The polar seems to be the one i see, whenever i see a stainless model. I think it’s awesome, apparently not super popular.

Thanks guys. I only asked because I walked by one in an AD window yesterday. I am pretty happy with my Tudor GMT at the moment. On the fence about the BLRO. I like the 24 click bezel and I think I could get over the cyclops but not sure if I am up for another Daytona-like wait.

Very politely put - understatement of the century! Why anyone would even waste energy (never mind their hard earned cash) on dealing with watchfinder is beyond me. Browsing their prices makes you think they’re talking about US dollars rather tha GBP
