Been a long time coming

I finally bit the proverbial bullet and picked up a Polar!

Although somewhat under appreciated in a family surrounded by the likes of the Batman, Pepsi, and other well sought after sport watches I love my Polar!

Managed to find a full set 16570, including original purchase receipt and all hangtags from the Wynn in 2006.

This bad boy is going to get a lot of wrist time.

Very nice, congratulations. Out of interest, what put you off the newer 42mm? Size or?

Size, bezel font, and the GMT Hand styling. Just overall not a fan of the new one. I think this reference is on its upswing in value as well, which never hurts!

I'm more a fan of the six digits, but this is one that I believe is better as a five digit.

Very nice example. Congrats! Love the 16570. I agree they are starting to show some promise market wise.

Congratulations! I share all your reasons for passing on the updated 42mm version of this watch.

My daily beater is currently a 16570 from 2007. It’s a great watch in my opinion.

Congratulations on your great looking Polar Explorer II ! I've always considered it one the iconic Rolex sports watches and was often featured in Rolex Ads. I always think of the great polar expeditions when I see one. May you enjoy and wear it in good health. Cheers!
