Almost Incoming! 16233 - Silver Dial - Trigger Shy

Went to my AD today and surprisingly fell in love with the two tone and silver dial. After trying on the new model, I was able to try on a few of the 16233's. The silver faced version really stood out in the used case. i gotta say the new jubilee feels too much like jewelry, the older version just called to me more. I've located one online that I'm thinking about getting

Convince me that the two tone won't make me look like an old fart! I think its the right amount of bling, class, plays well with most attire and is so different from my sub that its a totally different option to grab. This will be my second Rolex.

Pics of yours appreciated!

Convince us you don't look like an old fart regardless of the watch. Just kidding. TT's are not the domain of the old, they aren't wildly popular here but if you like it then pull the trigger! I'm a SS or full PM kind of guy, have yet to buy a full PM, but there are a couple TT's I'd seriously consider. As always, buy what you like!

If you like it, go for it. I started wearing a TT sub in my thirties. Why ? Because I liked it and I had reached a point in my life where I could easily afford it.

16233 in an AD?

This dial looks like it may be from an older generation.

Sorry that's a stock image for reference, not OC. I agree though, that's one smooth shirt!

Do you guys think that $5k for new old stock is a fair deal? Box and papers with stickers still on it from 2004. F serial.

forget about Old Fart! By the picture, you are totally able to pull off that ROLEX. It is a classic, and when a younger person wears a classic, that watch becomes modern...

If it suits you get it, but please try to use a trusted seller first.

Any photos of the “actual” watch being considered ? The one in photo above has had the fluted bezel edges polished off.

I am not currently a fan of TT but have owned numerous ones over the years. I think one of the most difficult thing to do is to like what you like. TRF can get in your head through the great pictures and many thoughtful comments. But it comes down to what you want and how you think it looks. I do like the modern version of the TT in either the DJ II or the DJ41. The older models scream late 70's-80's but if you are that guy and that is what you are looking for, go for it.

I'm 43 and plan on a two tone datejust for my next watch once Rolex comes out with a two-tone yellow gold datejust fluted bezel on the jubilee bracelet with a blue face. They made a 36 m like it in the 1602 group back in the 70's. Someone on here has one and has posted pics. great watch. I guess it depend what age you consider old to answer your question.

TT and gold is in right now so a lot of young people are wearing it. nothing old about it. get it and enjoy it

only thing is i personally prefer the hidden clasp jubilee. to me it gives a more modern feel, so maybe take that into consideration? although i know you mentioned newer jubilee looking too much like jewelry. otherwise, the watch looks great

I don't think age has a lot (maybe a little) to do with it. I bought my first new Rolex, a DJ TT on jubilee when I was in my twenties @ 1988. I haven't owned any gold watches or jewelry since. Even my wedding ring is WG

Don't obsess about what others may think. A) they probably won't notice. B) they won't give a damn as they're not watch nuts like us.
