This will blow your mind: LN or WG GMT?

It’s crazy, but I’m really on the fence about this. I love my LN GMT. I think it is a hugely underrated reference. But, I want a full PM and like the Pepsi dial. Can’t keep both should I buy the WG.

What would you do?

Sure. If the got the coin. Go for it. It’s a lot of extra weight on the wrist.

OP; if you can swing it, go for it. Whatever makes you happy. But with the minority here, I love the black look of the LN for me.

Yes indeed, if you can comfortably financially swing it. The LN is a fine watch I've owned for nearly 10 years, but the new WG blue dialed BLRO is quite a beauty. There were rumors on another TRF thread that these might be hard to get, though it's hard to say if that's just a temporary situation since Rolex still shows it on their website. Good luck in your decision. Cheers!

I like both but you really have to appreciate the PM to justify the cost.(discount)? The Ln has always sung to me and is probably the best bang for a sports model out there.
I'm debating on Blnr vs Ln myself. You've really got a problem. Kidn' Happy choosing...

I’ve had the BLNR. Bought it from AD. I did not like it. Would take the LN any day compared to it. Just my opinion, which I’ve posted a million times.

I was in the same situation back in February. I had the SD43 which I loved, it just never made its way onto my wrist all that often. Asked the forum what they thought of trading it in for the WG Submariner. Most advised to do the trade which I did. Let me tell you that I am so happy I listened. I am so happy with the “Smurf” love the dial, the hue of the WG, and the weight of the gold.

I absolutely think you should make the move. You will be very happy you did. Good luck

I did try on both at one time. The high expectations for the Blnr as well as the new SS Blro(at a reveal) didn't deliver on my wrist but the LN worked with the black bezel and the perfect splashes of green. I'm taking one more look at the Blnr this week to decide.

The feel of heft with a PM watch is worth it. And the BLRO GMT in white gold looks great too. Go for it.

Yes. I went from the LN to the BLNR to the BLRO. It's a great reference.

If you can’t afford having both then it sounds like you should not be buying anything in PM.

Agreed. Plus it's such a weird comparison. Kinda like a Black C200 or Red C63, may seem similar but very different.

More like C63_S, and I agree. Sadly, most Rolex owners force these purchases, even a Submariner is mostly outside the realm of "normal". The fact is a full pm watch should financially speaking be the same as buying an Omega ss watch in the proper context.

I could swing it but I really can't afford it, so I come on TRF to look at pics.

But you wanted opinions on the watch. Get the BLRO, it's marvelous.

I disagree

I could happily afford a PM Daytona on a strap when I owned one but not that and another $10,000 watch.

OP - get the BLRO. Its stunning.

Do the numbers work if you keep the LN and instead of buying the GMT PM get a Daytona PM on oysterflex..?

I'd keep the LN unless you are positive that you'll like the WG BLRO. You seem to be very happy with the LN and would probably miss it. Also, I don't believe that PM is simply better than SS -- SS has the benefit of being lighter, more comfortable, more versatile, and more robust. You could very well find that you like the weight and slightly warmer tone of WG better, but you could also find out the hard way that you prefer SS. The WG will also depreciate significantly more, especially if they stick the new movement in it this year and you have one with the older movement.

I'd say wait until you save up the ~$6-7k you'd get for your LN and then go for the WG if you still like it.

Depends. If you wear your watch as a tool as I still do, understand PM is very heavy and that’s not a bad thing, but I don’t like that kind of weight flopping around on my wrist when I’m swimming, cycling, hiking, playing ball with the kids, etc. PM is softer and more likely to get dinged up when actually worn as a sport watch.

If you want to wear as jewelry as many do, sure go with the PM.
