Hey all,
Public service announcement. Inquired about a BLNR a whopping 4 weeks ago and got a call today. I passed as I just want to wait for the pepsi, but the point is this, if you are in the U.S., don't pay over MSRP! They aren't that hard to get. That is all.

I was in the same boat last month. Got the call after 2 months of wait but turned it down because I'm waiting for Pepsi.

They are getting the call and passing how is that for lack of interest. He passed on a 9K watch being able to turn it into 12k instantly and he didn´t even let us know who the AD is so one of us could benefit. The gold advice of not pay MSRP they are not that hard to get is astounding.

First off, telling you the AD would of done you no good. They won't deal with a phone call. If you call and ask they will completely blow you off as they play by the rules and deal with people in town.

Secondly, Flippers are everything that is wrong with watch collecting at the moment. The point of the post was to try to encourage people to avoid paying 12K. I would be quite a hypocrite if I bought a watch just to flip it now wouldn't I. Also, if 3k is that big a deal to you, you should really think before spending 9k on a luxury good that is 100% an emotional purpose.

thirdly: I may have overestimated my ease of acquirance with everyone else's. I waited 18 months for a daytona vs. 4 weeks for a blnr being offered. My logic was, hey, doesn't seem that hard. But reading through the comments think I just got lucky with good timing. But I stand by some of my remarks above. My AD knows I don't flip, so I think that helps. But sorry to anyone struggling to get one that I came across flippant to.

Someone else doubted you, and I continue to doubt you. Some things are giving you away. So you ordered a Batman only four weeks ago and got the call in record time. You then declined because it is the Pepsi the one you really want. So after the pepsi was released in March it took you seven months and a call from the AD to decide you really wanted the pepsi. It sounds as if the absence of calls is what really drives you to the watch you want. And it seems this AD placed you first in the list or did not have any other interest besides yours.

It seems that you should be the one thinking of why to buy one of these watches.

Depending on where you are in the country, it just takes some effort to get on a waitlist for a blnr. I think the concern is that most did not put in the effort

I can't remember exactly how long my wait was - somewhere between 3 months and a year for the BLNR. I don't expect that I'll ever see the white Daytona C.

I have a good friend who just got one after a month wait. He had just purchased another Rolex from the same AD, which probably helped. I can say from experience that if you are a "good" customer, you have a much better chance of getting "the call" much sooner than anyone else on the list.

OP, I think you’re just fortunate to have developed a relationship with a seemingly reliable AD. You obviously have some relationship having previously purchased an SS Daytona. For others who have no prior history with an AD, I don’t think it would be quite as fast as 4 weeks. I think location (big city vs small city) may play a roll as well. I’m sure there are plenty of people on this forum who have been waiting months for the call for the BLNR.

Agree. Not saying everyone will get one that fast but in no way am I a big fish or anything, kinda still amazed I have a Daytona. But I think most everyone in the u.s. could get one in 6 months or less if you try. Just trying to do my part to encourage people to save some money and not pay 2k in premium.
