How big can they get, > 42 mm?
Reading the threads focused on the Exp II 216570, a number of people have noted that the watch is too big for them and they are more interested in the older 40 mm version. Do you think Rolex will be introducing models larger than 42 mm in the future? How large is reasonably practical?

My 6.5 inch wrist cannot handle it, it too big.
But others that have larger wrists can do it, more power to them, the watch is very nice. Rolex will do larger sizes like the Yatchmaster 2 and such but not for the next couple of years. Larger sizes allow for complications, |

Rolex makes watches for everyone, so they need variety of looks and sizes. I believe the EXPII fits in wonderfully at 42mm. When that is too big there is still the iconic GMT at 40mm.
I chose the Explorer II over the GMT because of the larger size. The 42mm explorer has the largest hands and clearest display in the Rolex catalog. And most importantly, the 42mm fits me perfectly. Luckily Rolex knows there’s no such thing as a one-size-fits-all watch. I doubt they’re going to listen to the 40mm only commentary. |

They already do. The YM2, DSSD, and the SD43 come to mind.
Not sure I understand your question....are you asking if they will continue making these models or not? Or are you asking if they will introducing other models besides these? And BTW, the 216570 is perfect for me. |

I have a 216570 and GMT that I just picked up. I feel like the exp fits me better, but could just be I have only had GMT for a couple days so it feels small. But I don’t think I could go any smaller.

The lug and bracelet design count for more than the size in mm. I have a Speedmaster with a 45mm case diameter. The lugs are curved downwards and not too wide. It wears like a 40mm 116610XX. My wife now has it and wears it a bit loose. It looks good on her very slim wrist.

There are manufacturers who have larger than 42. I have seen 43, 45, 46, etc. ARggh!
IMHO getting that large is just stupidly insane. Those are getting to be the size of small clocks as opposed to wristwatches. Some of those large ones even look bad on larger wrists! (Some of the designs are unattractive too.) Euh. At least Rolex seems to keep theirs to reasonable sizes. THANK YOU, ROLEX!
