My 1st AP RO! Brand New 15400ST.OO.1220ST.04 Ruthenium - A Good Luck Story

Friends,

I am ECSTATIC to say that I officially purchased my 1st BRAND NEW AP from an AD Boutique. I purchased it online since I got lucky with the transaction.

I have been seeking a pre-owned 15400 for a few months and every pre-owned piece was HIGH and new was about the same at $20k. I figured I'd wait it out. After checking almost daily on Watchrecon.com every month, same thing - slim pickings! I was originally going to get a pre-owned .03 blue dial, but I already have a 116613 Rolex with the blue sunburst dial, so I figured I'd change it up a bit.

After discovering there would be NO more Ruthenium models offered to any AD boutique this year I was about to pull the trigger on a grey market / overseas BNIB for $19k.

I had a strange inclination to give each boutique a call *just* to check. 4th call in, a nice rep told me that they had one, however it was a special request order for an existing client and it had just come in yesterday 10/25 and that the new owner was going to pick it up that same day, BUT she would give me a call *if* he did not purchase it.

2 hours later, she called me to let me know he did NOT purchase the watch, and went with a 37MM as the 41MM was a little too big for him!

My lucky day! Pulled out the good ole AMEX and added-to-cart! I can't wait to wear this new gem! I'll post up some pix when I have it in my possession!

1st of many -

Justin

Congrats! Not sure I buy their story lol but it is a good find regardless. I think AP has taken on the method of nobody gets a 15400 without waiting whether it is 2 hours or 2 months.

Hi! Understandable, however, under the circumstances, I honestly believe it's true. Look at the used market for these ones. I called every AD and no one had one. I called AP N/A and they said they are all sold out. Beverly Hills which is closest to me sent me this response below. I understand the tactic, however, it looks like they are all sold out through the rest of the year. Even Vegas AD said they won't even take a deposit. Either way, I got a new AP!

I just purchased the new AP ROO from the same boutique in Beverly Hills. Ebony is a great sales person! Did it all over the phone and watch shipped as promised. I got the first of only 10 in the US. I called every other boutique in the US. Not one would even put me on a list. All sold out with deposits. The Beverly Hills boutique took care of me!

I dont think grey is that hard to purchase, I saw both grey and white in AP boutique in Singapore just a month ago, and all colors was available in Japan other than blue, however things may be different in the states. Did you get any gift with the purchase?

Congrats on the incoming!

I may not be correct but it seems like there is very little circulating through the US - either that or the US seems to be a huge hub with high valued clients who seem to have first dibs at these pieces and as a result they are "spoken" for - which to me seems like they are reserved for by salespersons for their clients. Then when clients balk or pass, it then becomes someone who happens to call at the right time.

On the flip side, seems like boutiques overseas have higher chances at securing a piece? YMMV of course, but compared to the US boutiques there seem to be higher chances at boutiques abroad..this is from my personal observation.

Not to sound negative but only the blue dial 15400 is hard to find. Ive seen trusted sellers carrying the grey dial 15400s
