Incoming! Bigger brother

I couldn't help it so I finally pulled the trigger and here it is my new SD43. First impression, the watch is pretty big and heavy. But after a while I kind of get used to it and the bigger case makes the watch keep on popping up to my eyes.

Good day folks.

Congrats - if you can handle the weight and size, the SD43 is badass!

Those are some gorgeous photos.
I always felt like the standard 40mm SS models were a bit light. I’m fairly new to Rolex and when I put on the Sub I just felt underwhelmed. If I was paying something asking $10k I wanted it to have a bit more weight.

It really doesn’t weigh that much imo. I personally think it’s perfect.

Congrats on the watch! Here’s mine :)

Nice photo. I like the way it stands out the crowd in certain ways. I love my subC but I feel something special with sd.

Agreed, I've always said that there is something very special about the Sea Dwellers that the subs, whilst fantastic themselves, just don't have.

Congratulations on your acquisition

How does it feel size wise?

It's perfect, well balanced. It sits nicely on my wrist. Quite surprising I can adjust easily to its size. Some people mind with the height but I dont really wear a tight long shirt that much. The hev has done a great job too to fill on the side case.

I really felt that when I got my 16610 years ago. Coming from 13 years with a
4 digit Daytona (long story - should have kept it, but hey ho) I was massively underwhelmed with the feel of the Sub. It was light and quite insignificant compared to what I was expecting.

The 16600 addressed some of that, and the 6 digits were of course better again, but there's something very reassuring about the heft of the SD43

Looks great on you. I bet you only notice the weight difference when rotating watches for a day.

I was thinking the same thing, would like to know your answer after 6-12 months of owning. Hop in your time machine and report back!

Congratulations!

If your main concern is about the color, at a glance they are pretty much similar. But if you are looking for different "feel", they are completely different watch. It's like comparing black sedan and black suv.
