New Submariner Nickname
It's a trend to give a Rolex a nickname, especially comic related, so why not call the Submariner..The Submariner!
Ok, I'll step out now... |

Speaking of submariner...
I hear you Americans say "sub marine er" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ozSnlVzFBNE ^^^^^^^ Not so correct :p Whereas in the UK we say "Sub" "Mar" "iner" (arguably, the right way!) https://youtu.be/JT9XpXobZfU?t=13 Correct ^^^^ |

I think OP is suggesting the Sub's new nickname should be "Prince Namor"

I sometimes wonder if this is the Rolex watch forum, and not some kindergarten forum for under 5 year olds.

In the US Navy I'm told that those in the "Silent Service" are called "Sub-Maree-Ners."

Rolex gave us a very clear and simple number system for distinguishing different models. Why isn't that good enough? I'm not a fan of nicknames.

im already envisioning fights with my kids teachers when they have spelling tests when we move back to the states. The British invented English so however they spell it is correct, but im sure the kids will get it marked wrong anyway.

Again, I'm not saying I care one way or another. I happen to have a strong memory for the reference numbers (rolex at least) so it's not an issue for me, but this is the (watch) world we live in. |

Take a page out of Zoolander and call it "The Original Rolex for Going Underwater Good and Doing Other Stuff Good Too"
That might be a little long though... |
