Hi Bryan, congrats on 2nd post. Mistake? IMHO TT watches do nothing for me so according to me it's not so much a mistake but more of "there's too many watches out there for me and only so much money available" situation. Should you now find the cash to buy a DSSD in a few weeks you'll see another timepiece shortly after that and want that also. It's the name of the game my man. I thought 1 watch would suffice but now have over 10!! Enjoy your TT in the meantime. BTW...the DSSD is super sweet!!!

I don't think I would want the DSSD as a daily wearer, just not practical....too bulky & heavy IMO. The Daytona is much more comfortable, probably the most comfortable watch in my collection.

Bryan you haven't made a mistake.
As the guys say, its just human nature to assume the grass is greener elsewhere. I bet that before you bought your watch you had spent countless hours trying to decide which one; and you bought it because it spoke to you. Just quieten your internal chatter and listen; can you still hear it..... |

Try to avoid TRF. i am really sorry but this forum is of no help to people who needs help in saving money. |

The TT Daytona is a far more versatile watch, sporty yet elegant. I think you should give the Daytona some "time" before making a change.

I would like to just throw a wrench at your little problem. I would have bought the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms over both of them, especially if your into divers. If I was going to spend that much on one watch, that's the choice for me.

Wear it for a year and then you'll be able to pick up a pre-loved SD for about 6k around that time.

I disagree somewhat with the posts that say, "Give it time...it will grow on you." I say somewhat, because I agree that maybe you should give it some time to see if your attitude changes...BUT...for me at least, if I don't INSTANTLY have a great feeling about a watch, then I've found the doubts don't go away in time but get much louder.
Every watch that I've purchased that I know I'll keep for the rest of my life have instantly jumped out at me and I've never had a second thought/regret. The two watches in my inventory that fall into this category: My Omega SMP Chrono and DSSD. I really like the looks of the Daytona, but I've never pulled the trigger because for me there has always been a little nagging voice in the back of my head saying, "It's just not you...a little too small & no date." I always felt if I pulled the trigger I might be writing an OP like yours. I hope this isn't your situation, but based on your words, I fear this might be the case. Good luck figuring it out...and remember, in the end they are only watches...try not to let the ideas consume your thoughts (I've been there), causing you to miss out on the truly important things in life that obviously have nothing to do with any type of materialistic item. Cheers. |

Its no problem
I do the same thing all the time.
Keep that gorgeous daytona, and in 6 months to a year if you still want the SD, tade in the daytona and get the SD. The great thing about rolex(esp. daytona) is they hold there value. I bought a TT sub in Nov. I will prob. trade it in for a yacht master withing the next year. Good Luck |

Between the two, I'd stay with the Daytona. The Deepsea is attractive but its size means it isn't for everyone; also, there was a recent thread in this forum about some quality issues associated with its bezel - seems that some TRF members found their Deepsea bezels could turn clockwise as well as anticlockwise. They got it fixed quickly but for US$9,000, I'd expect better.

Umm it seems like the daytona didnt smile at you..it more of a smirk...I think you bought your daytona half hearted because of the fuss...most people love the daytona sometimes we just want to blend in but in reality thats not really what we want...If you want a DSSD sell you daytona...and buy the DSSD..i think that will feel you more better..

are you willing to lose 40% of your purchase or would you just save enough for the next one. because if you try to get rid of that right now you will lose a lot of money.
