New member, long lurker, Five Digit Sub Owner

Hello all! I live in the DMV area and own a 2008 Submariner date (16610). I have lurked these forums for a longtime and as I wanted to get it serviced locally by an RSC and only with Rolex parts found a few suggestions on here.

After reading through all the posts I felt going with Lenkersdorfer was a good choice. They worked on a few of my co workers Rolex watches all with good results. Just picked it up from it's first service and was happy...until I saw some really not so cool scratches at the crown guard.

I had them do a full service and replace the bezel insert. The watch was running out of specs and had several scratches on the bezel. Total cost was $821.

I am going to email and call but needless to say not happy. Back of the case scratches I am not all that worried about but seeing as they go to the crown guard it does bother me.

UPDATE

Spoke with Lenkersdorfer and they will get it sorted. On a positive note since the service the watch has not lost or gained more than a second a day.

There is often a period of break-in after a servicing. 2-3 weeks is common. Gorgeous Sub though. Strap that baby on your wrist!!

I have been wearing it a lot. I rotate mainly between it and my Grand Seiko snowflake. The sub is happily going still at about +/- 1 second a day.

Thanks! I mainly wore whatever PX watches I could find when I was in uniform still. Once I had to start wearing suits for work my journey in horology progressed quickly.

Ironically many years ago I was a new construction superintendent and one of the company projects was an Audemars Piguet store in the Bal Harbour shops in Miami.

The watch hobby has been fun and the Grand Seiko was my first luxury watch purchase. I will admit this year I made a mistake by purchasing another spring drive Grand Seiko instead of a hi beat.

What I would like for my collection next year:

36mm Datejust blue dial or vintage
Grand Seiko Hi Beat

A wrist shot by itself. I have been wearing this a lot and have to say it is a fun watch. The greatest part is no one notices it!
