Basel...importance

Lots of listings say Basel, as in maybe they bought the watch at the annual Basel watch expo or something. Is that all it means? If so, is there something magical about getting your watches there...maybe special deals are available at the show, etc???...I am not opposed to going myself if there is a big buying advantage.....ideas?...experience at Basel ??

Unless you are buying from an AD in Basel, I do not believe you can buy watches at the show, certainly not Rolex.

People usually use the term "Base"l to denote a release of the model.

It is my understanding that Basel is not open to the general public. You have to register as a dealer/retailer/wholesaler/mfg rep/press/etc. I could be way of on that, but that is my current understanding.

I think when they say this, the seller is referring to the "newest Basel release". Not that the watch was actually purchased there.

Yes, more to define the time of release, ie in which March.

Yeah, it's just referring to the watch being the new release. While orders can be placed at Basel, the watch itself isn't available there (and won't show up for six or eight months).

It's not allowed to sell watches at Baselworld for the exhibitors.

What is best a custom Rolex or a Rolex that is stuck in custom?

Buy a professional camera and you´re a professional
photographer, buy a flute and you own a flute.
