Anyone ended up buying 37mm instead of the 40?
Hey guys,
I have been looking at AP RO for years but never bit the bullet and the 15300 just keep on escalating in price all while also increasing in the amount of wear they are getting as well :) Have any of you landed up buying the 15450 over the 15400? Also, what do you think the odds are of AP releasing the RO as a 39mm again? Especially seeing that there seems to be a trend for more normal sized watches. |

Yes, many posters on here have went with the 450 over the 400 because of the fit on their wrist.
Outside of the 15202, I don't expect AP to release another 39mm RO again. But eventually (years away) they may increase production of the Extra Thin. Maybe the white dial will return, too. |

I ended up going with the 15450 because it fit my wrist so much better than the 15400.

Didnt get to try either in person but went with the 15450. If the 39mm was still around would be a much tougher decision but I figured the 41mm was too large. Even the black bay 41mm is a bit large (though a lot is the thickness)

Was curious your thoughts on the thickness of the 15450 after having owned it... when I tried one on at the boutique , I wasn’t sure how i felt and it gave me pause. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

To me, the thickness is fine, sort of reminds me of a DJ36 I owned but with more heft and thickness. If you walk in expecting the 15450 to feel like a dress watch with a sporty look then you'll be satisfied.

Agreed. Both are thin watches at 9.8mm case thickness.

The proportions seemed just a bit off to me on first impression. Agree 10mm is not thick, but to me it seemed that way I assume due to the smaller diameter (37mm) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

I own a 15450 and just bought a 15400. No AD close by to try them. First bought the 15450. Case size is not realy the issue for my '7inch wrist, i like traditional sized watches. But its the dial. Its small and started to bug me. Close-up it looks ok but in the mirror the watch just disappears. So i got the 15400 which wears big, i can pull it but its not the perfect size for me. The 15400 wears very similar to an EXP2 42mm. The 15450 wears somewhere between a datejust 36 and a 14060. So my advise is realy to try them before you buy even if you have to travel a bit. If you want to take your chances:
<6.5: 15450 >6.5/7.25: 15300 >7.25: 15400 |

Thanks for the replies guys. Glad to hear it’s not just me. My wrist is just over 7 inch with a large flat top of the wrist which works for big watches well like a 47mm panerai 422 but something about the end links on the 15400 just makes it wear huge.

TBH, I don't get the 15400. if I wanted a large watch (sic), the ROO would be the option.

15400 isn’t for everyone, difference is pretty minimal on dial size

Definitely! If your wrist is on the smaller side I wouldn’t hesitate to get the 15450, and I didn’t. I just picked up the silver dial 15450 and it’s incredible!

I've got tiny wrists, tried on the 15450. It "fit" ok, but it just felt off. 37mm just blows the proportions out of balance. 39mm is the sweet spot. Hopefully they'll shrink the 15400 back down to human size one day.

I have a Diver, a 15202 and a bunch of big watches I used to wear (PAMs, Blancpain FF etc.)...15400 is just fits weirdly - it looks bigger than it should, blingier than desired, and sort of off-balanced but it is hard to quality these impressions...I tried a 15400 on at least a dozen occasions and i never felt any love.

I think the 15450 is a good size but am curious - from your pic you obviously own the sky dweller. Do you wear both the 15450 and sky dweller in rotation as they are very different in size?
