What do I have?
I recently purchased a Rolex GMT master model 6542 with SERIAL number 232755 I'm I correct in saying it is a 1955 ?

Rolex began re-numbering at 100000 in 1955, so I would say that a 232xxx would be a couple of years later.
Models around that year should have a date stamp inside the caseback.
