118238 'Y' Serial Number with a new style clasp?

Hi all,

Wondering if anyone can help.

I'm looking to buy a Day Date 118238 with a 'Y' serial number which dates it to 2002 I think, however it has the new style clasp. As far as I was aware the new clasps were introduced in 2003.

Anyone know if some models from this year had the new clasp?

Y serials were introduced around September 2002 and ran well into latter part of 2003 possibly longer with slow selling all gold models.

Thanks for the response. Sorry if I'm being stupid, but does that mean models with a Y serial number will still potentially be manufactured in 2003, or just sold in 2003? Sorry I'm a bit of newb.
