Who has been to Baselworld

My brother and I are thinking about going to baselworld next year . Who has been and how was it. Is it worth the trip from Texas ? I would hate to spend 19 hours on a flight to not enjoy it

19 hours from Texas? Are you being routed through Australia?

We were in Basel in September, visiting friends. It's a nice little city, but from what I have heard if you don't have special "ins" with the watch companies, there isn't that much to see and do as a civilian.

I've also read here that they jack up the hotel and restaurant prices, although with Baselworld getting smaller, perhaps they can't do that as much.

That said, I am sure it would be interesting to see. Just don't know if it's worth the effort and expense.

As a regular visitor, it is the most window shopping that applies to all the major brands. To get closer to the manufacturers, it is
press accreditation and booked meetings. Smaller manufacturers and the independent, it's easier to get in and try and know
their products. I've been there for 20 years in a row and then I've built relationships with manufacturers and friends around the world.
New to this year is that Swatch Group has jumped off, so we do not really know what this means. It could be a first step towards the end
of Baselworld so it will be exciting to see the effect of this decision. So everything depends on what you want to get out of your stay
in Basel. One aspect is that maybe it's the last time it becomes a Baselworld, so if you want to be there, maybe there will be no more chances.

What is best a custom Rolex or a Rolex that is stuck in custom?

Buy a professional camera and you´re a professional
photographer, buy a flute and you own a flute.
