Two for one.. should I do it? ROO+RO for ROC

So I’m in a little dilemma.

A close friend has a YG blue dial royal oak chrono on bracelet.

It looks totally great, imo.

Question is - should I sell my ceramic ROO and ruthenium dial royal oak to consolidate to that one watch? Both watches are a less than 6 months old purchased directly from the AP boutique.

Pics attached for reference.

Love to hear some thoughts.

I wouldn’t.

I have a 15400st, 15400or and ROO 44 CE. I love them all...and absolutely love the ROC in gold - but, of my watches, the 44CE gets the most wear, followed closely by the 15400st. The 15400or gets the least wear (but I always really enjoy it when I do break it out).

I would not.

That ROC is quite nice, but I am a bigger fan of your ROO. As far as the RO goes, I’d be fine selling it to get funds to put towards that ROC. But, really, I like those both about equally and would probably wear your RO more than that ROC. In any case, Both would have trouble getting wrist-time with me over your ROO. Think you’d be shorting yourself on value, too.

Of course, either way, it’s most important to get whatever you like best. All are beautiful and valuable. So, it’s really a question of what you want to wear.

No in this case. The RO + ROO is a great dress + sports/casual combo. You will loose this flexibility

For me personally there is just something about a PM ROC/RO.... the bracelet the case... its pure magic to me. Dont get me wrong I love steel and all ceramic etc, but in my personal and humble opinion a PM Genta design is something to truly behold. Life is short go for that makes you tingle
Plus since its a ROC you can dress up or down, its super versatile.

I wouldn’t personally. I love both references that you own and prefer them over the gold ROC.

The watches you have are offering a certain flexibility. Especially the 44mm ceramic offshore is a very special watch. I love the golden Chrono, it definitely is an interesting model but depending on which country you live or what your preofesion is, it is not an everyday’s watch. Better protect your flexibility and go for it as a third one when you have the liquidity.

Hans

I just saw this watch on a Love Island/reality show winner last night and must say it looked good, even on that plank.

Are you missing RG Alex after selling the RG 44?

I personally wouldn't. Just picked up the 26405CE.02, and I love it, so couldn't imagine giving it up.

Not for RG RO chrono, for RO PC maybe. The ones you have now are more versatile and cool watches.

Thank you all for the input. I love the YG and blue combo, truly beautiful and in the right light.. spectacular.

The reality is that I’m starting to focus away from accumulation of watches to wearing what truly makes me happy.

I have these 2 AP’s for the flexibility and ease of wear (practically forget they’re on my wrist), my YG DDII just b/c I’ve always wanted one and in that combo. I’ve owned a nautilus 5980 and aquanaut 5164, along w a few other but keep going back to AP.

The older I get, I realize that I’d rather own 2-3 great watches rather than accumulate one for every day of the week and not have a special bond with any.

love the YG+blue dial combo...particularly the grande tapisserie (vs petite or mega).
that ROC is far more spectacular on the wrist than the RO or ROO, imo.
do it!

I would keep the ROO . Trade or sell RO + cash for the YG.

A good idea is to have a 1) ROO
2) Rolex of your preference
3) Patek (legible preferably)

The gold ROC is gorgeous, but thats a lot of watch to give up for it. AS per the general consensus, I wouldn't go for it.

I second the idea of moving just the RO towards the ROC. But hey if that gold is calling you then do it!

That’s definitely an option - moving the RO for the ROC.

That would mean I’d have to buy my wife a very nice present

The YG and blue dial ROC and RO are spectacular. I would do it since I have worn gold watches in shorts and tee or dressed up for the evening.

If you love it, do it.

On a serious note when the the YG ROC came out with the blue dial it had such an impact on me, it became a potential grail watch even though I'm not a chrono or ROC fan. The YG ROC converted me. It's a big hitter and a real beauty but it is a hard decision to flip two already awesome watches (my favorite refs). It is something that I would consider carefully, sacrifices will need to be made because that's what makes them grails but I would lean towards making the trade.
