Will a 2018 lvc have a serial number behind watch band when you take off the band ? Or is serial number only inscribed inside the watch

It will be on the rehaut between 5 and 7

The random serial no. will be visually inscribed inside of the dial ring on the rehaut at the six o'clock position

Okay cool. I popped my band off behind band by the 12:00 side it says orig Rolex design 116610 Down by the 6:00 it say stainless steel no numbers on the other end

You are correct. Newer ones dont have it behind the bracelet anymore...

For how many years was this transitional period where the number was signed in both places?

Late Z, M and maybe some of the early V.

Depending on the age of the watch some have serial only between lugs while others like some M serials could have it on the rehaut and lugs but nothing special about that. There is no real 100% cut off time frame,now some V serials had rehaut only, but all G and randoms from 2010 on will have serial on rehaut only.

I think it’s quite nice being transitional as I do like it in both places being a feature of the old and the new
