Did they change something with the cases/lugs on newest GMTs?

The new Pepsi....the new Root Beer......did they change something with case? I read they changed the case and lugs just a little to optimize polishing.....resulting in sharper edges and a shinier case side. I am wondering how much "shinier" the case side is on these models versus the non-new movement GMTs?

Only on the Pepsi, and I've held one right next to my BLNR and I can't see a difference. If something changed, it's negligible.

Something was changed but indeed hardly visible for common folk

I'm not sure about the polishing, but the geometry of the case and lugs of the Pepsi has it wearing identically to my 5-digit Sub which was a great relief to me as the 6-digit Sub didn't fit right and looked disproportionate. I read that Rolex thinned out the lugs and gently reshaped the case to make it wear a touch smaller and look less boxy.

Thank you! I've been staring at the lugs on the case of the steel BLRO versus the lugs on other modern GMT and Submariner cases, and darned if I can see any difference between them!

There was some good insight on this issue in another thread a while back. One member reported his measurements:

Another member posted pictures of the BLNR and BLRO side by side, showing negligible difference between the models in terms of the lugs or case geometry.

They're the same.

In another thread, someone installed their BLNR bracelet on their BLRO and it showed how even the curves of the lugs are identical. If I can find that photo or discussion I'll post a link.

And, my GMT bracelet on my CHNR fit visually perfect using the CHNR's springbars. The difference was in the springbar hole location and endlink shelf, but visually you'd never know it.

I would be interested in seeing that. I bookmarked your quote and the other pictures, because I knew this issue would come up again.

It was in the long discussion about fitting Oyster bracelets on the BLRO.

Attached is a photo I saved from that thread. I'd give credit to the owner but didn't make note of who it was.

Also note that the endlinks don't lock in perfectly and rock slightly in the 12671x cases, making the slope look slightly off in this photo. If they locked in perfectly tight then the slopes would match 100% at all times. This is due to the springbar size being smaller than intended for the 78200 bracelet endlinks.

Once fit with an Oyster, the optical illusion of slimmer lugs disappears and reality becomes more apparent.

Thanks. Yeah, the Jubilee really does play with the optics. I kinda want one for my Sub now.

I want one as well but the 69200 Jubilee is roughly $3750 MSRP.

Here’s my side to side
BLRO wears more comfortable but that might be because of the jubilee rather than any significant difference in case dimensions. If case dimensions have changed it is negligible - nothing jumps out
