Air Bubble in Sub Pearl
Hi everyone,
Didn't mean to threadjack before so I have started my own: My V-series Sub has an air bubble under the sapphire of the bezel pearl. I'm sure it just happened about few days ago as it wasn't there on purchase. From top looks like centre of pearl is discolored. However from angle/side, definitely a bubble of air. Sorry I don't have macro lens to take a pic. Can I ask if this is common on other subs? Should I take to RSC for bezel change? I am afraid it will come back with more damage (Swatch Group put dents all over my bezel when they try to get the insert off my Seamaster). Thanks everyone. |

Hi MaPham, I'd get it switched out. Don't worry about the RSC, they'll take good care of your watch.

Hi...
If you're in Melbourne, walk it into the RSC (70 Collins Street) and ask for the guys to have a look at it... Cheers

Once you've been to the RSC, relax with a visit to the Rolex boutique (Grima) on the opposite side of the street...
Cheers

I would keep the bezel insert just for fun. If it bothers you, then purchase another bezel insert, but keep the original one with the bubble.

RSC is AWESOME!! new bezel insert in 1 hour. I am very happy. watch is perfect condition.
Another happy Rolex customer. :) PS: didn't have time to go to Grima's as the parking inspector were out in force despite very hot day. |

MaPham,
I'm glad it worked out for you . Hearing your description did get me worrying a bit though. When I look at my sub straight on I can't see anything, but as soon as look at it from an angle it looks like there is a bubble or something. Any ideas, does it look similar or am I just over-reacting? Any help appreciated.

It happens, but I think it kind of looks cool. Look at the very top of my LV bezel. I'm not sure when it happened, but it did. Looks like they put paint on the inside of the pearl. I've thought about switching it out, but somehow, I kind of like it....
Weird, I know.

I suspect we just have to live with bubbles. With my DateJust I have noticed a bubble on the 11 and a smaller one on the 8. I have to use 10x to see it, but it still bothers me something fierce.

Good point. I just bought my subby last December so I can't stop looking at it, thus I'm always seeing it.
