In 2009 Victorinox Swiss Army celebrated its 125 year anniversary. New products will be introduced in honor of the Jubilee and exhibitions traveled the world, spreading the good word about Victorinox.
“For the 125 years celebration, every product category will launch limited editions and special editions, under the label of ‘Companion for Life’,” says Jean-Bernard Maeder, Creative Director, product and marketing, Victorinox Swiss Army. "Victorinox, starting with the knives, has always been a product that has been passed down and this is a great statement.
The Victorinox Swiss Army Infantry Vintage Jubilee Edition is a timepiece from a limited edition, launched in 2009 as a part of celebration of that 125th anniversary of Victorinox. It is an extension of the fresh and innovative Infantry Vintage line of watches which was originally unveiled the year before. To mark its important milestone, the Swiss watch makers made a truly astonishing and unique timepiece that represents its rich and successful history.
This retro-styled timepiece has a rather large circular case at 44mm with a noticeable and charming analog dial in olive color. The overall appearance is inspired with the 1940s and the U.S. Army Dodge truckswhich were especially popular in the final stages of the World War II. Allegedly, these trucks were acquired in such enormous quantities by the Swiss Army that they were priced by a square kilometer.
Because of the significance of the important milestone, the Victorinox Swiss Army Infantry Jubilee Edition includes unique functions that set it apart from the timepieces of the regular collection. A carefully crafted screw-in case back is engraved with the Victorinox’s seal that says “125 years, your companion for life”. The case-back also displays the company’s famous cross and shield emblem. The case of this watch is 44 millimeters in diameter and 12 millimeters thick. The Victorinox Swiss Army Infantry Vintage Jubilee Edition also features a fixed bezel made of stainless steel.
Improved Features for the Jubilee Edition

There are also some differences between the regular and the jubilee edition, which can be seen on the olive-colored analog dial. One of them is an inscription “Jubilee Edition” and the other is a cream-colored highlight of the telemeter scale and of the 30-minute chronograph. The easy readable analog dial also features luminous hands and hour markers and a date display at the four o’clock position. The alluring face of this jubilant timepiece is protected with a scratch-resistant, triple-coated sapphire crystal.
This model of Victorinox Swiss Army watches for men has a brown leather pig-skin strap with cream contrast stitching. It is 23 millimeters wide and it fastens with a buckle. The Victorinox Swiss Army Infantry Vintage Jubilee Edition features Swiss quartz movement and water resistance of 100 meters.
