Opinions on Union Glashutte?

I’m thinking of part-exchanging my Rolex submariner for a new watch. I like the look of the Union Glashutte Noramis chronograph, also it is a brand that seems quite overlooked even on watch forums and I quite like the idea of wearing a watch unlikely to encounter another one out there.

It’s not clear whether Union Glashutte is a resurrected zombie brand like Glashutte Original and I’d appreciate the experts view here about the quality of the brand and of the watches. Anyone actually own one and can give an honest opinion? Many thanks in advance

I have no clue...but I went to their website and their watches are attractive enough, but not my cup of tea.

Opinions on Union Glashutte?

Thanks, it does seem a very under-the-radar brand, which appeals to me. I really like the chronograph with two subdials and blue numbers and hands. The nearest AD to me is about 3 hours’ drive away. I might go on an weekend and take a look in real life.

Edited typo: subdials not sundials... damn autocorrect

I’m not sure I’d want to pay full price for one. I believe they are part of the Swatch group (not necessarily a bad thing), but there are better watches in that price range.

Years ago Union Glashütte is (was) presented as a sub brand to GO, a more affordable version of I think they may be made in the same factory. They are both owned by Swatch Group.

They're great watches for the price but mostly unknown. If one wanted a GO but didn't want to or couldn't pay GO prices, they're a nice lesser priced alternative, sort of like Seiko v. Grand Seiko.
