How much household income should you make to consider buying a Rolex?
Hi all,
I got this idea from reading another thread yesterday. The question I post to the forum is how much household income should you earn in order to justify buying a Rolex? Lets just say around 10-12K Rolex. A GMT or Daytona at MSRP. I know that all cases are different and its all relative but I am curious what the forum thinks is an acceptable household income to justify this kind of purchase |

I would say to look at it from a different view - that one can buy a Rolex that is priced at 5% of an individual’s annual net income.
I wouldn’t consider it a household property. |

Well, I bought my first while living in a 1 bedroom apartment, check to check with a newborn and wife so I guess I’m not the best for advice on this one.
I’ve come a long way since those days though and have no regrets. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Thanks VastHorizon for the post. So your saying 5% of one's salary not taking into consideration a significant other salary? Also 5% of net income after taxes. Interesting thanks again!

You couid go one step further and consider it as what % of a persons 'disposable income' - but you would then have some people with low incomes but vast capital (say inherited wealth).
So I don't think it can really be analysed, as way too many variables. |

If you can buy two and not affect your daily bills. I personally do not like debt and find purchasing such an extravagant item if your over extending yourself unwise.
