HOLY SMOKES!!! It looks like he tried to make the outer links polished as well???? That is shoddy workmanship right there. Instant call back to the right person ought to take care of that situation. Good luck and be sure to let us know the outcome.

I have had nothing but excellent service and professional results from RSC in Toronto. I find it hard to believe that this is a result of their work, unless they've started outsourcing.

Were the nicks on there already or were they made by RSC? They can be filled.

Pretty strong stuff. Can you give a personal experience to back this statement up?

There's more to metal refinishing than simply holding it against a buffing wheel. Pits and deep scratches require hand work. Also, buffing wheels can really spoil edges and corners by rounding them off.

Another appearance of the troll.

I'm getting pretty sick of this particular specimen.

If it went to rolex In Toronto, that is highly unusual that such slipshod work would ever leave the factory. CAll them in fac t email them at Rolex toronto at

rcl.service
E-mail Address(es):
[email protected]

They are always promtp and get back fast. Send it back to them and ask them to have another go or replace the bracelet

Actually, no it's not!

Back in 2007 when I bought my new SD, about a month after ownership I found it odd the way the links on collapsed near around the case. Upon further review, I realized that one of the pins/screws between the links was bent, hence the links couldn't fold properly.

I noticed this when I bought the watch, but figured much like the blades on the bracelet of a new watch, they tend not to fold easily and there's a "wear-period" before they become easier to fold.

Instead of going to the AD where I bought it from, seeing as Rolex Canada is in the same city and on the subway line at St. Clair, I decided to go up there on my lunch hour and have one of their expert-technicians look at the watch.

I went into the building and handed the watch off to the service girl explaining my findings. I gave her my warrantee papers of which she made a photo-copy for their files. She then took the watch to the back room. i sat in their lounge and 15 minutes later she came back telling me there is NOTHING wrong with the bracelet and that it's just not broken in yet.

I left the building still feeling unsure. I went back to work and logged into TRF. The members instructed me to get it in writting from RSC Canada so that I'd have recourse in the future. I called back to RSC Canada and requested the paper. The service-lady seemed shocked and asked why. I told her I wasn't satisfied with their answer and that by having it in writting, I'd prove them wrong in the future and I'd ask for a new watch as recourse to the service they provided. She got nervous and said she'd get back to me about the issue.

I didn't wait. The next afternoon I went to my AD and explained the problem. The manager took one look at the bracelet and confirmed that the pin was bent. He asked if I snagged it on something. I said no way! Look at the bracelet, there'd be visible scars or something and the bracelet was mint. He was surprised and disappointed at what Rolex Canada did to me and said there was no excuse what-so-ever to have allowed me to walk out of their offices with a watch with this issue.

In the end, the AD handled the situation, and a week later i got my SD back. They ended up just replacing the bracelet with a new one.

Am I disappointed what happened to this gentlemens TT Sub? Yes I am.

Am I surprised that Rolex Canada F#$ked it up? No!

Wow Whiskey! That sucketh!

Thanks for sharing that! Stories like this make me more apt to be suspicious and not just take an AD's word for it. Good for you that you stuck to your guns!!

Since we're on the topic of Rolex service in Canada, I'd like to ask about the status of the watchmaker at the Brinkhaus AD in Vancouver. According to the store, their watchmaker is the only watchmaker in Canada other than Rolex HQ in Toronto that provides service at a factory level (ie. repairs come with a Rolex international warranty).

Because I am rather reluctant to believe everything an AD says, I'd like to confirm this here. Thanks in advance. Also, is there any other difference between their watchmaker and another watchmaker at another Canadian AD?

Dude, I suggest you call Rolex Canada and confirm what you've been told. If Rolex Canada can't confirm it, than it's not true.

Not that it really matters....................look what Rolex Canada did to this poor guys watch.
