Icon6 Is it just me or....

Are more no-to-low posters who’ve been registered for like, 8-12 years only now starting to post; and what they’re posting doesn’t seem to jive with what a mid 2000’s Rolex enthusiast would type after taking a decade long nap?

Ayedunno? Maybe it’s just me with all the exercise or something.

The rolex price increase has awoken them like the locust. Stories of 3k daytona and 4k flat 4 sub lv are about.

Be brave young chewy. Be brave.

I do believe I’ve noticed something similar.

I have noticed the same. I got a pm the other day from a 0 post guy that joined years ago wanting my opinion on something he was going to purchase. I ignored the PM, it was just strange.

why would you ignore it? that seems strange aswell, the man just wanted an opinion, yet he isnt qualified enough to ask.

I had a similar experience some while back.

I replied honestly that I wasn't qualified to give advice in that matter.

Probably hacked accounts looking to build post history with an older login.

This thought did cross my mind.

‘Password’ was a very highly used password in the early-mid 2000s

As a low poster. And who is the oldest member on this thread so far. I do not see a point to post "Congrats" Happy Birthday" "Wear what you like" "No, the watch looks perfect on your wrist" comments to EVERY like thread.

I am on here for a few hours a week and enjoy the knowledge being shared.

Giving people "respect" just because they have 30,000 posts to which are just about all the same does not sit well with me.

Agree and disagree. This is a community of individuals with a shared passion and while I agree with the ridiculousness of praising someone for have X number of post, it is also a reflection (somewhat) of that individuals engagement with the community. I learn more about the people on the forum in the open discussion thread and I learn more about the watches in the General and Tech threads. Knowing more about someone (whether it's real or not, we're online after all) makes one more likely to trust that individual and feel more connected to them.

That was a bit of a tangent. I agree with the OP, it does seem like a lot of old accounts with low post are all of a sudden active. Just a strange occurrence.

FWIW the thread is not about respect for a high post count.

Not even a little bit. At least that’s not how I took it.

Yup! Also noticed the tone of old/new posters attitudes and comments being less respectful of others too.

Is it just me or....

Sometimes a long-time low poster is doing all of us a favor by not posting more often.

And a new member can wow us with a first post.

It is the intellectual and moral fiber of the member that makes more sense than raw post count.

Nobody here thus far has 30K posts - ergo any rancorous rants pass like water under the bridge.
