Do we have a name for this 1803 dial variation?

Hey all,

I have never been great at discerning colors/shades and the dial on this one looks champagne, but is a little darker (almost brown...but not quite), and it has white print instead of black. I've seen a few like this over the years, but never knew if it had a designation, or if it would just be called champagne with white print?
Thank you in advance for any thoughts!

Jessy

Do we have a name for this? Yes...a darn beautiful watch! ;-)

It looks like champagne. Lighting can play a variety of tricks especially with dials like these. In any case still a lovely piece!

It could also be a brown or bronze dial. Tough to tell with the lighting.

I call it brown or bronze. Give it a catchy name and become immortal.

It's one of those unfortunate orphans there just aren't enough of for a cool name to stick. :) Seattle Al made up a cool name for his but I don't remember. I have an NOS one I call; "that one with the white writing", that's pretty cool. :)

Totally agree, That's essentially what I've called it. Someone mentioned it be called "Ardesia ghost or Hazelnut" on VRF. Looks like Phillips auction used it... found a couple others using that name... has a nice ring to it at least.

I call it bronze as the presidents also have a darker brown dial. I have a very similar loose dial for a 18038 that I believe to a bronze dial. I can’t remember how I ended up there but I researched the dial when I bought it years ago.

I had this 1625 dial but I think it’s actually more bronze than the one in question. Seems like a lot of 1625 dials you see are this one, I wonder why:

It’s been simply called Gold, or Smoky Gold.
