USAir Pilot Sullenberger wears a Rolex?
Chelsey "Sully" Sullenberger. Looks like a DJ, thought at first maybe it was a GMT on Jubilee. Either way, what a guy! Now THIS is a guy who should wear Rolex. You decide:

Pretty amamzing what he did, if anyone deserves a "gift" watch from Rolex, it should certainly be him.

I can´t see well if it´s a Rolex he is wearing, but he really deserves a full Gold GMT, and a BIG thanks hug!

I happen to know a lot about flight.
What this GENTLEMAN did, keeping a plane landing on water in ONE piece is only done by very lucky or excellent pilots. Whatever the case :c lap: We admire him and he shall be treated as a hero anyway. Some people owe him their lives and their families their hapiness.

Nice post.
No diamond or gold on his GMT. Just a plain, straight, macho SS GMT II C,with a specially engraved dial from Rolex. |

I actually think it's a DJ, and MAY be a TT. Definitely NOT a "SS GMT II C."

Great - I also think its a DJ on Jubilee bracelet with a fluted bezel.
They should make him a Rolex Ambassador

if indeed he is wearing a rolex, than good on him. this makes me happy to be a fellow rolex owner. not because james bond wears a rolex, or because some pampered celebrity or overpayed athlete wears the brand.

Sully deserves it!
I agree David..... the airline (and passengers) should see to it that he gets whatever Rolex he wants! Talk about earning it!

I have many former squadron mates that fly for the airlines.
It seems like the "cute line" many passengers are asking aircrew when boarding the plane these days is "Did you go to flight school with Sully?" To them it's become a "Is the SS Daytona hard to get" type question. Thinking Sully's side business will soon have grown to a point he doesn't need any "presents" from anybody. |

And the passengers are whining that $5000 is not enough for having their lives saved. (no good deed goes unpunished) This guy did an awesome job and is deserving of anything that may come his way.

It has become pretty much standard practice in this country that no compensation is enough, more is always better! I don't see any passenger presented the pilot anything in return for his/her life!!! They just want more than 5K. Greed is more powerful than life itself!

From what I have read, he was one of the top pilots out of his graduating class at the US Air Force Academy and due to his ranking, was chosen to take part in a rigorous glider program.
His communication with air traffic had him calmly talking with the tower, fully in control. I'd say the passengers and crew were very fortunate he was in charge. Hard to believe a jet plane, full of passengers and fuel, could land on the Hudson River without any incident. Rolex should use him as a spokesperson and give him an all gold GMT-IIc. |

The guy has his jet taken down by a couple of taliban Geese (candian) or as he said Huge brown Birds. These Canadian geese are 30 pounds. Planes manufacturere says a water landing to be survivable must be at 11 degrees. Seems he made it at 10 thats superb ability. He was invited to a air safety event in Tel Aviv where he will be the guest Speaker.
Good on him. America has another hero, and an entire flight of Lucky passengers had the best damn pilot in the world at the controls of the plane. Hoa! |

Well that is one guy who definitely doesn't need a Submariner.
He is a brilliant pilot.
