Anybody own a Mustang GT?

Do any Forum members have a Mustang? I've only owned Corvettes and Camaro's....never a Mustang. Can anyone let me know what they think of them.

Here is the Car I'm looking at.....Triple Yellow Paint. (What do you think of the color too? Too much?)

I almost always rent one when I travel. Just a fun car.

The current design may be the most wonderful design of any Mustang since the 68 GT.

Fun car. Going to get around to get one soon, just completely unpractical for me (yet).

Cant speak to the modern ones but I owned these two back in the day (the gray being a GT and the red was a Cobra).

Both 302 v8 5 speed manuals. Lots of fun in my younger days

Looks like we have similar taste in cars and car colors. I currently have 3 Mustangs (2 red and one orange) and a yellow C7 Corvette.

The new Mustangs are fantastic especially that they finally got IRS. I've never owned a Camaro and haven't really looked much into them but I imagine the two are pretty similar in performance although I think the Camaro has a few more engine options now.

Either way these cars have always been the best performance for the money which is why I love them.

As far as the color, I love the Triple Yellow but they dropped it from the 2019 lineup. At any rate I love the Orange Fury even better. If you haven't seen it in person, it looks incredible. Typically the yellow and orange colors are the lowest produced colors which can go either way for resale. It might be harder to find a buyer but those who HAVE to have that color will typically pay more since they are harder to find.

Another thing to note about the color, this may go without saying but if you don't want people to notice you then that's a bad pick.

I live in a city with a population of about 300,000 and my Orange Mustang is my DD. Once a month or so I will get a text from somebody saying they spotted my car. Anything from "What movie did you see" bc they saw it at the movies or "You just passed me on xyz, looked like you were in a hurry". I personally don't mind but if you know a lot of people in your hometown and don't want that kind of attention then stay away from orange/yellow.

I'm no Ford fan, but they seem to have done a great job on these, especially for the price.

Test drove several new ones at the end of 2018 when I was looking for a new fun daily driver. Ford has really done a great job with the s550 Mustang all around. Ended up finding a great deal on a 2018 GT350 but absolutely wouldn't have had any reservations in one of the new GT's with the Performance Pack and the 6 speed.

As far as the color choice being too much ...

I'm a big fan of bright colors

while I tend to agree, to a point, but IMO there may be no more better performance bargain than the new Camaro SS 1LE for $$ spent

If you do not care whatsoever about reliability, go for it

Can you explain on this? I've owned Mustangs my entire life from every single generation and never had a single issue. Plus being a Ford/Chevy the cost of ownership is pretty low.

LOL, I thought the same, just a misplaced / displaced comment IMO.

X3. I have had 5 Mustangs up until about 2008 when the kids had to fit in both cars we owned. Ever had a major issue and the minor ones were just that.

My ‘17. Fun cars. Took about $2k in suspension work, bushings, links, springs and braces to sort out the wheel hop, squatting, nose diving and sloppy IRS. The results are great. 24k trouble free miles. Oh AWE makes an outstanding Cat Back exhaust for the Coyote.

My point was, on average, the Mustang is not a reliable car. Objective data and reports back this up. If you had terrific experiences, good for you. But you are one of many. Your experience does not translate into everyone's.

true, but as I stated earlier along with the 'Stang and the Camaro SS 1LE show me another vehicle that competes with them at their respective price point
