Rolex Bracelet Repair

I have a friend that has a GMT Master, and the bracelet is becoming very loose. Rolex Service Center told him to purchase a new bracelet yet he wants to keep his own one and rather get it repaired.

I remember reading that there are people out there that can repair the bracelet, can anyone reference somebody or has good experience with someone that can help?

Thank you so much!

I would just purchase a new one.....However, someone posted a stretched bracelet thread the other day so if you do a search you may find it...

A brand new bracelet will not be the same as the one he has right now, thus for him to get his repair.

I remember seeing before and after photos of bracelets being repaired, just hoping to find that Rolex expert.

I've seen some amazing bracelet restoration pix here from Michael Young at http://classicwatchparts.com/

I don't want to get technical, but according to chemistry alcohol IS a solution!

You may want to try Denis Carignan, of Belmont, New Hampshire. He is an excellent watch repairman, and quite versatile, based on my experience. I've had him overhaul a 60s IWC gold watch, as well as a modern Rolex Date, the results being exemplary both times. I believe he does bracelet repair as well. As far as service, he makes a point of letting you know at various stages of the repair just how it's going, and what he's found. There are a lot of alternatives out there; my experience has been excellent with Denis. His number is 603-267-6933.
