Maui - any recommendations for watches?

Heading to Maui for a few weeks and would love to pick up a Rolex (or two). Wife wants a YG DD. I'm thinking about a YG Sub.

Any recommendations on where to shop while there?

I think the only ADs are Barron and Leeds in Lahaina (just south of Kaanapali) and Wailea. I've been to the Wailea location and its quite nice. I even saw a BLNR there in early 2017, but now of course I doubt they have any SS sports pieces. Staff was very nice and we discussed how my SD4K was going to become a collector's piece. Happy hunting!

Forget the watch. Let’s talk about you going to Maui for 2 weeks. In the meantime I am stuck in dallas Texas with lovely 40 degree temps. But we do head to San Diego for a week in 18 days. Good luck on your watch hunt and safe travels !

My recommendation is very simple. If you're going to get those 2 models, then demand a decent discount plus a very hard to get model.

My AD would give me a Daytona for buying either of the 2 models you posted, especially the ladies model.

I was in Wailea for 2 weeks end Jan/first of Feb
Stopped by Barron and Leeds. The case looked a bit empty and had no stainless sports models but the sales lady said they were expecting a shipment "any day". I smiled and she said "you know how that goes".

The Shuttle driver for the rental car company must get really good tips- He was sporting a Pepsi. It looked gen but who knows.

At the mall location there is a lady that is pushy, can't remember her name. There is a guy that is great though, you should see him. Vague I know.

Was just in Maui. Ask for "Breezy", she was fantastic to work with.

She works at both locations -- Wailea and Lahaina.

The Wailea location had the Yellow gold Sub in stock when I was there. (Matter of fact I tried it on.)

Was there at the same time.

Got the same spiel. They said they were due a shipment "tomorrow" and I thought they were BSing me.

Sure enough, got the call the next day...

That place also has a 100% trade in value. They give you 100% of the MSRP to trade in for another watch (when the time comes).

So as a watch newbie, please don't attack me for asking!

Is there a reason people go to Hawaii to purchase watches? Is there a difference from buying it there, than say, NJ?

I went to Honolulu last year and I wish I knew about these places!

The Wailea location is great however didn’t have any professional SS stock other than an Explorer and a Milgauss when I was there about a month ago. Great window shopping though if you’re into solid gold models.

Just was there, went to Barron & Leeds. I actually liked the lady. They were also expecting a shipment any day. They got one, only one with any interest was a 40mm YM with Rhodium dial, which is cool but not what I’m after.

They had both watches that you are seeking in the display case. As someone said, I would also seek a discount and a hard to get model.

They’re part of Tourneau, so don’t be fooled into thinking it’s a small boutique AD.

Well for one, 4% tax in Hawaii.

Also, they will ship it to your home state if there’s no Tourneau dealer there in which case you could avoid tax altogether (if you don’t declare).

Tourneau also has been offerering 0% financing for 30 months which is the longest I’ve seen for 0%

Like others said Barons and Leeds will be your only option. Last time we were there everyone in the Wailea store was really friendly. They tried to convince us that my 10 month old daughter needed a rose gold skydewller.

I've been to the one in Lahaina. Despite not having anything displayed, they were very friendly to my family and I which I found refreshing in the current environment.

Stopped by Baron & Leeds today. They were super cool. Definitely knew their watches and very gracious hosts while we looked around and talked a bit about Basel.
