Too much writing on the Sub ?
I would like less writing on the Sub face. I realize that older Subs have less writing. Agree? Disagree? Don’t care?

Personally, I actually don't mind the writing on it.

This is the sort of thing that might matter in macro shots on a huge HD computer monitor, but in everyday were - not at all. I personally can't stand the blocky new case shape in macro shots. Whenever I see a Sub in real life I think, "that's nice looking".

I think it's fine - I also like the Yachtmaster's three lines.

Luckily my almost fifty year old eyes can’t see any of the writing.

I don't mind it. The old 2-liners didn't have the 4 lines of text because they weren't COSC certified.

I agree, 4 lines is probably overkill. Removing "Officially Certified" would have the same effect and make it look cleaner. In fact, I think it would sound cooler if it just said "Superlative Chronometer".

In real life, the writing is so small and faint that it jsut blends into the black dial of the Sub. When I look at my Sub I only notice the date, hour markers, hands, and "Rolex" and crown.
By the way, sometimes I just stare at my second hand and watch it sweep around. Its just beautiful to me. |

I don't mind it and don't think it's too much. I like subs with both 2 lines and 4 lines of text. As has already been said I think it's something which has a much bigger impact when a watch is photographed to be viewed at a much larger scale than 1:1.

I own a 2-line 14060M but 3 lines would be perfect IMO.

The 4 lines look fine to me. I guess I'm used to it since it's the norm for most Subs. The 2 line looks a little bare at first glance, but it's definitely nice too. Either way doesn't bother me.

4 lines is good for me. Looks a little busy I supposed but the focus is not on the writing so it’s no problem.

Doesn’t bother me one bit. Even my Deepsea has more and it seems like all that text belongs there. I like it!

Some watch dials can be a bit too busy but I don't think the Sub falls into that category.

I prefer the 4 line 14060 over the 2 line.
I like reading the COSC text. Plus, they made fewer of the 4 line 14060's because it got COSC certified toward the end of the the 5 digits. The date sub had COSC long before. |
