Fair discount on new GMT IIc?
What do you think would be a good price on a new GMT IIc from a grey dealer? Best I've seen is 16% off retail.

30%?
This is the first tale I have heard of Rolex's being disounted 30%. More fond of the Omega's personally, but a GMT IIC at 30%, would be hard to leave in the case. Would have to see it to believe it.

at this time 30% discount for ss sports model much more with newer models like gmtII 2 c deep sea and of course the icon daytona is too good to be true.you have better chance of winning the game by a big margin with the regular datejust models or even 2 tone sports models.AD knows the game of rolex so we better start changing our defense to win the game somehow...

Best I've seen is 300-500 below list otd from an AD. Since so many people are interested in GMT IIc, anyone ever organize a group buy?

This is the asking price, just like msrp is an asking price. In all due respect guys, there is more room. Then again, big cities have many more players, so more competition may equate to lower prices, especially for repeat buyers?

My apology. But I know some ADs offer free out of state shipping within U.S. In a sense, the group buy will be limited within the state.

It's apples and oranges, but I can get 30% discount here in Mexico. The watch is already starting out $800-$1000 more than US MSRP, depending on model, which is why you can press for the 30%. The last time I asked (less than a month ago) I could walk out with a GMT IIC for ~$5650 USD, and then have to pay the 3% foreign transaction fee on my credit card. If I bring the cash from the US, it's a straight $5650.
Doing the math, that's about 20% off US retail of $7K, and I think you can probably get that from a US AD if you shop around. Thirty percent off US retail would be a deal I could not pass up. If there's an AD who is playing ball, how 'bout helping a brother out. OR, you can contact busa180 (Jerry), and he can probably get your really close to the magic 20%, possibly more. Tempting........hmmmm...tempting...

Sorry, let me clarify...
I was addressing a post from above yours insinuating that i was telling a "tale" about receiving 30% off a ss gmt IIc. When in fact, yourself and another poster confirmed what i was saying. So, the thank you was to you! and the "tale" part was to the other posters being crass. |

That's equivilent to the Duty Free price I got in Aruba (Gandelman's May 2008), with the Canuck buck at par with the American greenback. So my question is why aren't more Americans buying in Canada, that equates to just under 5k American. |

Quoted thru GlobeInvestor the rate is .8175 and the 5k includes taxes (GST & PST). That means that profit margin is around 10%, they're located on Bloor St W, I know times are tough but at that rate how long can they last. Don't get me wrong, that's a smokin price so Kudos to you in getting a great deal. |

More importantly, I don't think people want to deal with the hassle of cross-boarder duties. Just my 2 cents (saved). |
