Two need to go
I’ve been reading the forum for a while but this is my first post and I’m looking for your thoughts on my dilemma. I’ve built up a small collection over a period of time but now need to move a couple on to free up some funds.
All the watches have a unique appeal depending on occasion but I’ve decided that the Globemaster is one of those to go as I’m loving the DJ41. The other definite keeper is the moonwatch for sentimental reasons. So its one from the remaining 3; Sub Date, Exp1 or OP39…. I might be mad to even include the Sub Date in this short list but I only really wear it at weekends. Both the OP39 (white) and Exp1 are great allrounders and are below the radar watches that I can wear to work and dress them up or down….. Although very different watches the Exp1 and OP39 are the same movement watch and case size…. All of them appeal to me but one does need to go and I’m struggling to decide so would welcome your thoughts….. Photo attached. |

If you're keeping the DJ41 and the Speedy, I would hold onto the Sub Date. That way you get a little Oyster and a little Jubilee action going on. The OP and the Exp I are both beautiful pieces, but they both have the same smooth bezel look as the DJ. I just think the Sub gives you a little more diversity. BUT...if you would wear one of those more than the Sub, just do that! I'd much rather have a collection that I like than a well-rounded one that I don't

I'd hold onto the Sub and sell the one out of the remaining that I wear the least.

Keeep the Sub , sell the Explorer , then you'll have a black dial (sub) and white dial (OP).

That’s a tough one. I’d probably ditch the Explorer, it’s never really done much for me and i really like the white dial on the OP.
Keep the Sub |

I agree with some that you can probably get rid of Explorer or the OP. Considering the rest of the collection i would let the Explorer go.

Keep the DJ, Sub, and Speedy.
Three iconic watches that give you great options. DJ has the jubilee bracelet so can dress up. You’re already keeping the Speedy. It’s a Speedy. Enough said. And you should keep the iconic Rolex, the Sub. OP is fine but with DJ it’s duplicative. That Explorer never did it for me. No way I’d keep that over the Sub. Let us know what you decide. |

Thanks for your thoughts. It’s been a tough decision but I’ve decided to keep the sub and OP39 as im sure i’d have seller remorse if I sold the sub as it is an icon. Even though it doesn’t have the easylink extension and it’s probably not as iconic as the explorer the white dial OP39 offers some colour to the collection.
I think these 4 will sit nicely together until the urge for another watch strikes... |

My preference would be to keep the Sub and Explorer. When I saw the OP39 in person, I was a little underwhelmed, so that would be the one to go for me.

OP39 is the weakest in that set.

I would sell the DJ. I know that is not an option, so I would unfortunately sell the Explorer 1 or OP. But either would be tough given your collection. I say that cause I’d drop the OP but the white dial adds variety. That leaves the Explorer as your only option (I would NOT sell the sub over other options). Along with Sub, I would have trouble selling and Exp1 over an OP, smooth DJ, and a few Omegas. It’s too good of a watch.
So again, I’d ditch DJ. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I’d get rid of OP- very similar to the datejust.

I love the Explorer but you have a lot of black faced watches. I think the white OP is a keeper in your collection and the Explorer is the one to go.
