Cyclops
Be honest, could you do without it if it was a factory option?

Yes. Seadwellers imho look better without and I would love an SD43 without!

Yes. I can absolutely go without it on my Daytona.

I personally love the Cyclops. Given the option, I’d still want it. I do love the SD4k as it is the most proportionate ceramic diver out there, not because of the date window.

It is useful on my aging eyes but to be honest I wish Rolex produced more pro models sans date. For example Exp II's, GMT's, Subs with different dial and bezel configurations without a date. Think of how good a LB or LV SS Sub no date would look. Or a EXP II Polar no date.

Even better, I'd like to see Rolex innovate and offer a larger date instead of the traditional datewheel mechanism that you also see on $10 watches. Other brands have already found alternatives (Moser's larger date using two stacked datewheels with half-a-month each is my favorite) so Rolex could if they wanted. But I understand why Rolex doesn't want to change or remove the date -- the cyclops is now a brand hallmark. |

Before I ever got into Rolex, the one thing I knew was a Rolex had that bubble thingy. To me the cyclops is THE Rolex signature and I would definitely want it if given the option. Besides that I'm nearing 50 and find it extremely useful. Was very happy. When I heard it was getting added to the Sea Dweller contrary to the angry masses on this site.

Yes, I used to be very anti cyclops but eventually came to except it.

No I wouldn't. I somehow like the design of cyclops. Looking at it from some angles the cyclop looks like a drop of water on the watch glass and I think it's cool.

The cyclopes is synonymous with Rolex. The absence is one of the reasons I don’t have a Daytona

Some references have them, some don’t. I like the variety that already exists

I would get rid of every single one. And I have a bunch. LAWW has a nice modded non cyclops dome crystal for vintage subs that looks great. I have a few of them.

I like it, but don’t miss it when it’s not there (eg, Daytona, Explorer)
