Apple Watch series 4

Looking for a smart watch for everyday to wear. Since I’m in the Apple eco, figured I’d get this one. What are everyone’s thoughts ? Worth it or not? I was going to get with possibly cellular and sports loop

For everyday/all purpose I think AW4 is the best (assuming you have iPhone), for excercise oriented I might go for Fitbit, battery last longer.

It depends on whether you think you'll wear it or not. I got a Series 2 and have only ever used it to track my laps at the pool, and elevation when I hike. I have not touched it in over a year now, and have probably worn it less than 30 times since new. I prefer my traditional watches.

It’ll be used mainly during work and around town as my Rolexes are usually night/weekend watches

My only thoughts.. I don’t like the idea of maintenance (charging the battery daily or watching it drain). I’m hoping I like it since I did go and order it today.

My wife enjoys her iWatch4. To address the battery charging issue we purchased a wireless phone + iWatch battery combo and she simply lays them on that device at bedtime and it's GTG all day long.

I have a 4 and love it! It lasts the whole day easily and never had it run out of juice. So I charge it at night and it's fine. I mostly use mine at gym and when traveling. It definitely comes in handy and is quite useful.

As much as I love my higher end watches, I’m coming to the mindset that for casual and family travel, my AW4 is hard to beat. I’ll be on a ski trip this month and rather than worry about skiing with my AP or leaving it in the hotel, I’ll probably just put on the AW and go.

I have the 4 and it lasts a full two days before it needs to be charged. It’s comfortable and the face is fully customizable.

Yep, a great travel watch, and don’t ever have to worry about people trying to steal or rob you.

I’ve got the one. The bigger 4 is tempting but feel a little guilty updating since the case shape is exactly the same.
I use it when I travel and don’t want to worry about being mugged.

Was given one as a gift. Never thought I would take to it but I’m a big fan. In short it makes life more convenient. Has a ton of info at your finger tips. The series 4 has the heart rate and ekg feature which is really amazing. I would only wear this watch if I didn’t like my mechanical ones so much.

My wife loves hers. I use mine when I exercise. Wore it to Disney last week to keep track of steps. Battery life could be better but it's OK, I guess. I wanted stainless so had to pay for cellular but don't have it activated since I always have my phone.
I can see it replacing my Polar Explorer as my work watch when I mow in the summer as I think you can control podcasts from the phone rather than taking phone out of pocket.
Wife likes it for texts around the house as she leaves her phone all over the place.

The Apple Watch is the best choice unless you are really into fitness tracking and need something more durable. Then, the Garmin Fenix would be the best choice.

Absolutely love the AW4 and would have gotten one and worn it a lot...except this happened and now won’t leave my wrist.

These are some of the main reasons I ended up going to order one last night. While being able to wear it at work and going to Europe this summer for a few weeks it got me thinking. The cellular is a bigger bonus as it gives me the ability to leave my phone behind when I feel like traveling lighter. As much as I’d like to bring my watches along (as they’re insured) to Italy this summer I didn’t want to risk being a target in certain areas after reading and hearing some stories. While I’m not always working out anymore, maybe the feedback will encourage me to do that more often.

Being able to answer a text or have other apps at a quick glance won me over. As I was never a big fan of wearable tech and mostly into Swiss mechanicals as most of you are. This will give some variety.

How is the SS version compared to aluminum ?

Ended up purchasing the 40mm cellular + GPS on sports loop in space gray. I’ve already been looking at aftermarket straps. I should be receiving it soon so I’ll make sure to post an incoming
