Deposit to Watch Timing?
Hi - After a year on the wait list for a 15450ST - Blue dial, the boutique called me to take a deposit. I asked how long from there it would be until the watch came in and they didn't give me a time. Was wondering typically how long do you think I have? A Month? Many Months? A Year+? Appreciate anyone else sharing their experience. Thanks

15450 is the old model. If they offer you the 15500 you'll need to wait for the release date.

15400 is the old model, 15450 is 37mm not 41mm

It was the NYC location actually. They said "as soon as we get it in we'll let you know...lol"

Correct - it is the 37mm model, not the new 41. Also, it was at the NYC location and they said they were still waiting for 2019 allocation and I am 2nd up so they couldn't give me a time. Obviously very very eager so was just curious how long it takes to go from deposit to acquisition as I have not gone through this process before. Thanks

It’s so variable that it’d be anyone’s guess. As long as you feel comfortable with their fiduciary responsibility for the deposit funds, you’ll never know until you submit it.
To avoid setting unrealistic expectations the shop is always going to say “don’t know”. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

OP I am in a nearly identical boat. I set a deposit for the same exact watch back in October 2018. The AD was told their allocation for the year earlier this month. I am first on the list and the Salesperson told me I would get it "Before November", but that they really don't know when it will come in.

At the boutique its 25% but, for many pieces, its not as simple as just walking up and asking to be put on a list. I would call first so you don't waste your time.

Correct, I put down 25% and also went into the store several times throughout the past year, attended some AP events, etc before finally got the chance to deposit.

I checked with a boutique in HK, and it’s six years waiting list + VIP status (don’t know how this is defined) for the steel 15202. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I went to a boutique in Europe recently and they said they do not take deposits for waiting lists. I was also inquiring about a 15450 in blue. Is this common?

6 years is legit crazy. how can that be anything other than an incentive to go grey.

I am in a same boat from Tokyo boutique . I was told last week that they haven't received any blue 15450 this year, still 7 people waiting ahead. it will be a long wait for me for sure.

Bit - did you put down a deposit? I put my name down in a European Boutique, and they told me that they do not take deposits.
