116610 Bezel play

Hi, I have a question in regards to the bezel on the 116610. Do the bezel have some play to them, not side to side but when pressing down on the bezel it self. When pressing down on the 12, 6 or 9 o’clock, does it feel springy?

I’m currently in the process of purchasing a pre owned Sub and the bezel felt a bit springy. I haven’t had a chance to see or hold a brand new one to compare it to. I was told that it is normal for some to have that including slight play from left to right after it clicks.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Normal! Sorry not much more to add. It's all about the mechanism.

Mine is not even 3months old yet, the bezel is tight and there is very little to no play up or down. There will always be half a second of play horizontally by design but it should be tight.

Mine has always had a spring feel when pushing down. Normal.

Definitely normal. I noticed some are tighter than others. May just be from “broken-in” usage. However, as one person pointed out, there is about a half second of play before the “click” engages when rotating the bezel.

Same question twice on forums - yes, absolutely normal on Sub, SD, and DSSD.
