The AUD$2575.00 bezel insert
Nope, it is not for a vintage rolex.
I have been trying to get my hands on a replacement bezel insert for a Bell & Ross type marine quartz diver. This should have been simple enough. I dropped the watch off with the Sydney AD Hardy Brothers, (who have been helpful). They, in turn, got a price from the Bell & Ross authorised service agent in Perth, All About Time. So the quote eventually came back to me at $2575.00. I've since been in touch with Bell & Ross HQ in Paris who told me the cost of a new bezel insert is 179 Euros (AUD$285). Someone is trying to play me for a chump. My next step is to see if I can bypass Perth and get one from Paris directly. |

Hi Kosta, yeah I've done that. They have been helpful (if not embarrassed by the response from the service agent).
I've even forwarded them my responses from B&R Paris. I'll be in Paris myself in July. So I expect that is where and how I will eventually resolve this issue. |
