Up Close and Personal [modem burner]
With all the interest in the GMT/ super jubilee combo and because of PM's I receive on the subject I thought I'd attempt some close ups. These are some quick down and dirty shots so please excuse the dust and dirt.
I would define the fit to be secure, flush, and appropriate. As you can see in the pics the bottom of the SEL protrudes down slightly from the case. A closer look shows how the bottom edge of the SEL actually sits firmly against the case. It feels and wears as comfortable as the classic jubilee with more heft and a dressier clasp. dP

Dan,
I've saved your pictures as a reference. I hope that is OK. You say that the fit is secure, flush, and appropriate, and I guess that you experience no movement of the end link, but I would argue that the fit - on the margin - could be better. It seems to be a gap on the top side towards the case. We are talking parts of millimeters here, but what do you say about this? Thanks for the pictures. I'm seriously considering doing what you have done... and it looks really good, not to mention the dramatic upgrade that Rolex made to the Jubilee when the introduced the new version. I really like it! Best, A |

Agreed, the fit could be better appearance wise. In reality [as close to reality I can get] it installs and feels like the SEL's from my oyster bracelet. And yes, there's a slight gap top side. However, the pics exagerate this, the bezel covers this area anyway, and it can't really be seen without magnification. In person, with the exception of the SEL's sitting lower than the case, you would think they were made for each other. dP
