16700

Hey all,

In my hunt for a Rolex GMT I've seen the following on eBay, seller is from the UK... My understanding is that the bracelet should be a matte bracelet but I'm really unable to make out from the pictures whether it's a matte bracelet.

Seller says hands and dial is completely original... Are the hour markers meant to be flat on these models?

Thinking of I do go for this then I'll swap it out for a pepsi bezel insert.

Thanks!

By the way, watch is an A serial and Swiss only dial!

the bracelet is brushed, not matte, and yes that is the correct finish. i'll let someone else chime in on the rest since i am not familiar with all the details for reference.

Pictures aren't great so it's hard to tell. I would request higher res photos from the seller if I were you. From here, I don't think the hour markers look flat and I've seen better polishing jobs but it doesn't look terrible.

Nope hour hands are not flat but on a 16700 should they be flat?

Can you show me a picture of flat hour markers please? I may have something else in mind

By flat I think you mean earlier 16750 matte dials. This looks correct for 16700.

Personally, I hate buying any watch off eBay. I think you may have best results with a member here on TRF. But I will give the stamp of approval on selecting a 16700. Bracelet is so comfy, easy change bezel insert; just gotta get past a little rattle. If you don’t know what I mean, you soon willl. Best of luck and feel free to reach out if you need an opinion, but you need some better pics if you’re looking for the bid of confidence on a purchase.
